I desperately want to teach my horse to do this on cue. I saw a video that I can’t find now where the person did the stretch and that was the cue for the horse to do it along side her. It was adorable. I’ve seen my horse do it a handful of times over two years, but not nearly enough to be able to begin to associate any sort of cue or command with it. I’ve taught some tricks to my previous horses in the past, but I can’t figure out how to begin to start teaching this one?
If you clicker train, you can wait until the horse offers the move and capture. Or you can start building the move through small increments. This looks to me like it could start with a bow move.
@Scribbler I don’t clicker train, but he will bow for a carrot stretch. I’m trying to figure out how I can transition that into downward dog
With a clicker.
Give a cue. Each motion in the correct direction gets a click.
