A Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue (TLAER) training class is being hosted by the Loudoun County Equine Alliance at the Loudoun County, VA Fairgrounds this August 28-30. This three day training course for is for first responders, veterinarians, and horse owners in the region.
Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue (TLAER) is defined as “the practical considerations, behavioral understanding, specialty equipment, techniques, methodologies and tactics to perform safe extrication of a live large animal from entrapments (trailer wrecks, ditches, mud, barn fires) in local emergencies and disaster areas.”This training opportunity is focused on for first responders, animal control officers, veterinarians and veterinary technicians, animal rescues, and large animal owners.
