Tell me about the pedigree behind WakeUp!

Need to switch my mare to fresh this coming breeding season, looking into USA and Canada based stallions that have competed through FEI.

Wakeup has caught my eye, but I do not know much about the front of his pedigree. Would anyone be willing to chime in with details about WakeUp’s sire Wagnis? What level did he compete? What else has he produced? What does he look like?

Same with Supermax Macho?

Any photos of Maiden Montreal floating around?

The mare-line has decent sport production behind it with:
PSG Marzipan out of 2nd dam Rosalie competed by AnneMylaine Messier. Rosalie also produced Oldenburg stallion Alaska Tyme.

3rd dam Gräfin produced Rheinfee, dam of:
GP DR. HOUSE (Westf, chestnut stallion by Del Cento) Approved for: sBs; with Marie-Theres Bahn (GER);
Revenue dam of RICHARD KIMBLE (Westf, bay gelding by Ribbeck) GP performer with Isabell Werth (GER);
And the stallion Riokiu (Westf, bay stallion by Rheingold) Approved for: Westf.

Thanks!

I’d contact Emily she is a great person to answer all those questions for you. Very lovely girl to talk to. She is on Facebook

Emily is absurdly nice and approachable. I’m sure she’d be happy to answer any questions. I saw WakeUp go at nationals and groomed for someone who was stabled near by. I was super impressed with his general demeanor and way of going in the ring.

I have a friend with 2 wake up yearlings. IMO both lovely and both improved on the mare PM me and I can get you in touch with her if that helps.

Wellllllll,

I’m assuming you don’t need much info about Weltmeyer. Lungau sired good jumpers and dressage horses, in keeping with his pedigree. Macho is by the successful anglo arab improvement stallion Matcho.

On the dam side, Rheingold produced Florestan’s dam. Enough said there.

There is alot of athelticism there, but I would be particularly interested in Wakeup’s foals and how he crosses with specific mares. Compare that to your mare’s pedigree. Also, it depends on what you are aiming for regarding body type, discipline, brain, etc.

Wagnis is the sire of a gelding in my trainer’s group.

The horse is currently competing at I-1 and scoring very well with his AA owner, who is in her late sixties. She earned her silver medal on him in '14.

All of that speaks to his incredible temperament and his willing attitude. He doesn’t spook, he doesn’t refuse, and I think he’s a 2005. To me that indicates that he has mostly been sound and level headed, to be at I-1 at just about the right age for an ammie horse. They bought him as 3yo.

I don’t know much about the damline, but I know the gelding is registered AWR.

His canter work is particularly impressive. He has very fluid changes and scores particularly well in the changes required at the FEI levels. He does not have the super-snappy, airtime trot that is favored these days. He also does not show a natural propensity for passage and that is something they’re working with and considering, as they look toward what comes next.

Hope that helps.

Willow is by Wake Up that competed in the FEI 6 yr old class at Lamplight yesterday. She is out of a Mustang x Trakehner mare.

He’s a cocktail with a variety of horses in his pedigree. Analyze the varieties and see if that works with your mare.
