Tell me about your Delgrange saddles!

What do you love or hate about them? I’m saddle shopping and very likely taking one of these on trial. They sound wonderful, but would love to hear your opinions!

I had an ancient one. It felt like I was sitting in butter, in a good way. Even though I am horseless, I still kick myself for selling that saddle. :frowning:

Just tried one out last week. The one I tried had a too flat for me seat, and ran a bit small seat wise as well.

I have the virtuose. I just got it last year so it is very current to what you would get now if you bought new. The quality of leather is phenomenal. The position it puts me in is really better than any other saddle I’d tried. And I tried a lot! There is just something about the balance of the Bruno’s that works really well (at least for me). I’ve never felt so secure while jumping. If I’m not mistaken Eric Lamaze recently returned to using Delgrange saddles. I remember seeing a video where he too talked about the balance of them.

Here it is: http://https://www.facebook.com/Bruno.Delgrange.Canada/videos/1197782370256617/?fallback=1

Anyways. I highly recommend you try them. The rep in my area was wonderful to deal with and the saddle was delivered to me in the timeline they quoted.

I have the partition. Looooove it. So comfortable and balanced. Customer service was outstanding. I shopped back in 2014, and the reps were fantastic, very fast in communication.

Awesome! That’s what I’ve heard from a lot of people! The one I’m getting on trial is used, but in excellent condition! Can’t wait to sit in it!

I have the Virtuose as well.
I had the panels cut like the PJ/Partition ones. The seat area is also wider and deeper, which I prefered.

Really good balance and leather quality. The service was also outstanding but knowing Jacques Ferland personaly, it couldn’t have been otherwise!

I ADORE my Delgrange. I pinch myself that I came across this saddle (bought used, so it’s a little older, but excellent condition). It’s by far the best saddle I’ve ridden in (including Antares, CWD, Etc.) Very balanced saddle with enough padding to offer security but it’s not overwhelming. I can say, hands down, it is the best/nicest saddle I have ever owned and probably WILL ever own :stuck_out_tongue: Oh, and communicating with them has been very easy with excellent customer service. Don’t hesitate to email them with any questions. My saddle came sans saddle cover and I sent them a really nice email and they ended up sending me a brand new saddle cover for free!

You guys are making me so excited to get mine in on trial! Sounds like it’s exactly what I’m looking for!

I have a PJ that has to be maybe 15+ years old by now. It’s sitting in my house because it doesn’t fit any horse I own currently. It is in remarkable shape for its age. It’s almost freakish how durable this saddle has been.

I’ve have had numerous offers to buy it, some for as much as I paid for it a long time ago. It’s not for sale, ever. It’s a keeper, for sure.

I love mine! Both that I have are quite old, and I probably should sell one since it’s sitting in my basement, but it’s just such a nice saddle and I know the second I sell it it’ll be the one that fits the next horse…

I got one a couple of months back after years of saddle fitting nightmares.

You will have to pry that thing out of my cold, dead hands. I love love love it.

It is so much easier for me to remain in balance on the horse, and my lower leg is behaving itself much better now. Very sensitive backed horse is happy now too!

The reps were good to deal with, the one they picked out for me is the one I ended up liking the best. Everything went so smoothly it was such a nice change!

Mine arrives tomorrow and I test ride in it on Sunday!

I really liked the few that I have sat in. There are quite a few new ones at the barn I am at, and even though they were 1-1.5" too big in the seat, and fit to 6’+ riders (compared to my 5’5 self), the balance was phenomenal! Ultimately I ended up going with another CWD as the reps I was working with seemed completely unwilling to work with me on finding a used saddle and dropping 5k+ on a new saddle just wasn’t in the cards, though had it been I totally would have gotten one! I liked the Athena model the best.

Got mine in! Can’t wait to ride in it on Sunday!

I loved it but alas, the flap was too long.:frowning: The search continues but what a nice saddle!!
