Preacher - that is why i said a few pages back that entering CWO in a performance class is symbolic. You just explained that symbolism eloquently. You did open a door for others and don’t let others say it was about You. It is pretty obvious to me that it has always been about the TWH. Stay strong in spite of the haters and those with hidden agendas.

Since May 16th when this thread started i had to box up all my belongings in 3 rooms and move every stick of furniture in order to have the 3 rooms carpeted. Carpet is down, furniture is getting moved back, boxes being unpacked. I have houseguests coming in a couple weeks so have lots to do and wont be online as much. Will keep popping in and posting links and hope when i log on that the thread is staying pretty much on topic. We’ve been doing pretty good considering this is COTH !

I am very sorry you have censored by banning any poster. Unless they are making threats towards another poster that could result in police action, the silencing of those with a non group compliant thought clearly demonstrates support for the TW Breeders group.

They too censor and shut out those who question abusive training techniques.

I find the posts of the preacher to be disruptive, an affort to religion and not relevant to the issue at hand, other than pontificating his/her high esteem of themselves.

I would never ask for you to ban them, however.

While I have, on many occasions, not agreed with Lifesabreeze, there has been a refreshing take on certain topics as compared to the usual sheep herd mentality often displayed on this forum. (the pile on and destroy group).

I do not know this person however I do know and understand censorship and banning though my family history in Europe.

For those of you who are applauding the silencing of Lifesabreeze, I guess you are also applauding the silencing of desent by the TW BL group.

Symbolism is all well and good, but the symbology has to have some substance behind it. That substance allows the symbol to survive and thrive.

CW in a Performance Class is symbolism without substance. There is no, clear “object of the exercise.” The horse can’t do a Big Lick and that’s what wins the class. So, what’s the point besides trying to put your virtual thumb into the Celbration’s virtual eye? That’s neither Christian nor effective.

To suggest that decline in Celebration attendance is in any way associated with CW’s earlier appearances is really “streatching the blanket.”

Horse’s aren’t kids with MS. They are property and livestock. Conflating the three is to disrespect both people with MS and horses.

Again, CW is not the center of discussion. The prior appearances did nothing to harm the Celbration, change any minds or hearts, and creates disputes where none are needed.

Hello all.
After 3 days, 64 pages, 1275 posts, countless links and many breaks for crossed eyes and queasy stomach, I am ready to put in my ha’penny’s worth.

As an owner of a registered TWH, double reg as a Racking Horse and dam to a registered racking yearling, I indeed have a dog in this fight. Terrible analogy BTW.

The abuse that has been witnessed worldwide with the Nightline expose is truly sickening and painful to watch, but necessary in order to bring this atrocity into the light. All the suggestions to hit the TWHBEA Celebration in the wallet with boycotts of sponsors, while worthwhile, will probably do little. The money is there, and likely always will be. Laws and regulations are fine for those that obey them, but these people have proven time and again that they have no respect for law. Just as my father used to say, “Locks keep honest people out. If somebody really wants in, they’ll find a way.” By all means, we should contact our lawmakers and push for stiffer penalties for laws already on the books; my letters are in the mail to my senators and congressman. I have also sent one to Judge Mattice requesting his consideration to not accept the plea agreements, bring them to trial and punish them to the fullest extent that the law allows. In this day of instant information, social media can bring powerful images to many whom otherwise would never know about this issue. We must use every possible avenue to bring about what, in my opinion, will be the biggest weapon in the fight against this torture that is called soring; SHAMING those who practice it, know someone who does and say nothing, or actively supports those that do. These people know it is wrong, else they would not hide it. We need bigger spotlights, more cameras, more exposure. Public opinion will turn the tide, and I, for one, am ready for battle.

My last letter was to the TWHBEA. It stated that I would reconsider renewing my lapsed membership, obtaining a show card, and participating in their organization if and only when they put their teeth where there their lip service is and get the registry back to it’s roots, promoting The Tennessee Walking Horse, able to glide with it’s ground covering running walk for hours without tiring the horse or rider, and get rid of the ridiculous perversion they call the padded performance horse.

Thank you. You are in TN. You know the industry and the players. You completed the DQP program. You know what you are talking about: you know how (un)important CW’s appearance in 1999, and again in 2007 was: you speak the actual facts. The TW group has silenced its critics over the years. It has banned horses without “enough” stacks.

When one silences another by banning them it is equivalent.

I would disagree with you regarding the requests to ban certain posters. Many long time COTH posters would also disagree with you.

You are correct about sheep UNTIL they panic and start a “run”. If one falls, others will fall on top of them and so on. Sheep ranchers are very aware of this phenomenon.

I have never asked others to support my views. I am against soring … no more no less.

I also try and look at a larger scope to the problem as to the tarnish that rubs off on other breeds. That is a fact, whether or not we like it.

Exactly! I read somewhere that the USDA has changed the criteria for decertifying a DQP who is not honest. Bought-off (insider) DQPs have been a big part of the problem

Why do you think lifesabreeze was censored? Can you distinguish the difference between censored and banned on this board? What makes you think LAB was banned because of what she said? What specific thing did she say which banned her? How do you know that was the reason she was banned?

You get banned from this board when you don’t follow the rules. If you are rude, impolite and don’t stick to the topic the mods warn you to do so, If you persist, you might be temporarily banned. If you try to circumvent the mods, you might and probably will be permantly banned.

Societies, such as COTH and such as the US, set up laws and rules so that they function as best as they might providing personal rights as much as they can, but with boundaries and limits designed to protect members from abuse. Upholding those rules and laws does not make a governing body suspect or communist, and does not mean they are employing censorship.

Your argument is weak, inflamatory and sensationalistic and shows a true lack of respect for the rules of this board and a lack of understanding of appropriate social boundaries. Lifesabreeze’s behaviour on this board banned her, not her opinions. there’s a difference, and it doesn’t take a high IQ to grasp that.

The rule states that minimum penalties for the already existing inhumane soring act stuff will be established and enforced. That’s good, and it goes into effect July 7 so that hopefully it can be referred to in the letters people will be writing to the judge involved with sentencing the scumbag. It doesn’t say alot, but it is there, so it can be an official-er kind of reason to enforce any minimum punishment available, at least, and the guy can’t get out of it as easily. It helps.
