You can secretly audio tape in this country. In my state only one person in the conversation needs to know their being taped. Usually the taper.
You must not work for a bank. The auditors, Federal, internal, and external ARE looking for things wrong so they can cause you economic damage. They want to collect money from you for doing something wrong. There are so many regulations that can cost a bank millions if violated. And we do hire internal auditors who are looking for things that are wrong. We have no control over the Federal auditors.
If one is violating rules, I don’t care how they are found out. Whether the method stands up to prosectuion is another thing. But at least the violations are exposed. And there will always be some sleazy way to get around punishment. The laws are meant to protect the innocent, but way too many quilty have taken advantage of loopholes.
See?? There you go - entrapment laws are already there to do the job.
No, they are not. Entrapment, as a defense, is a very difficult one to plead, prove, and sustain.
I don’t want to see us, as a society, establish some form of legalized “stazi.”
G.
this is very interesting, their have been C I’s(confidential informants)all the way back to Sherlock Holmes and before.
if it takes a CI or a RAT i don’t care.if Jackie the Jerk turns State, i don’t care as long as the people who SORE and Abuse, the Tn waking horse any gaited breed for that matter.are brought to court and charged fined or taken to JAIL.
if i get to see the Shelbyville Slime come down, see their hold on the Walking horse industry GONE in my life time i’ll be one Happy Camper.
what some of you dont understand is that this soul group are the core of the SORING,things had to come to this point, now it has to work to STOP THEM
And by GOD you can call it a vendetti i could give a rats patootee,Godfather Mullins and his MOB have to be taken down.
do you know that they have someone in all of the southern states, really!
Internal Auditors compared to an individual who is NOT hired to be a spy (C.I.) is apples and oranges
Without the assumption of a right to privacy, the right to private property ownership and the right to a free trial a county is reduced to that of Saudi where they have public beheadings, Hungary where all private property was seized by the state and China where trials are a mokery and only done to appease the international courts…
Soring is horrible. Everyone except those who do it agree.
Soring a horse is NOT grounds to remove the checks and balances provided by the constitution.
There are terrible parents. Why not have the state use those thousands of cases each year (by far, trumping the number of TWH’s sored) and seize ALL children from parents and put them into state residential schools.
Oh, Wait…that was already done…check Native American lawsuits.
Or, how about taking a group of individuals, based on the color of their skin and eyes and seizing all of their property and putting them in enternment camps even though they are Americans and had been for generations but America was at war with their motherland…can you spell Japanese?..and they NEVER did get their property back at the end of the war.
How about removing the right to drive for women?. It is illegal for a woman to drive without an excort by a male from her family in MANY M.E. countries … if caught: DEATH
The minute you say we will take away the rights guaranteed by the constitution YOU are then becoming the judge and the jury.
Again, Soring is horrible and the pain and suffering it inflicts on the horse is unconscionable but it does not justify removing checks and balances from the constitution.
Canada has a major taint as the government suspended ALL RIGHTS to its citizens in the province of Quebec when it declared Martial Law during the PLQ crisis where British Politician was kidnapped and murdered by a terrorist group demanding separation for Quebec.
For those reading who are young, rent the movie Seige staring Denzel Washington, Annette Bening and Bruce Willis. It will show you what may happen when martial law is implemented for a city.
My family is European. We had EVERYTHING taken and all generations are so very thankful my Great Grandfather had come to Canada and the U.S. in the 1800’s and established land claims. And those land claims gave us the right to a life.
Demand laws to hold individuals accountable. Demand sentences that will reflect the severity of the charge and demand the denial to own ANY animals should an individual be found guilty.
If you gut your consitution which is the only thing that protects you from your government or any government agency, you won’t have to worry about soring of horses…you won’t be allowed to complain.
You may poo poo this as extremism but that is how communism and dictatorships emerge and gain power. It is when the citizen says “If I am not doing something wrong I have nothing to fear”
On a daily basis, bills, laws, legislation etc etc are being promulgated and have been for 200+ years. Part of a good society is to debate them. This is going on freely here. Even though a few feel it best to avoid all laws - it is the existance of laws that make this debate possible.
Topic at hand needs to be turned like a Rubik’s cube by some in order to get it in context. A 'nuther good thing.
Obviously a few people do not understand the scrutiny of being employed in a fiduciary capacity.
I for one am looking forward to an improved HPA. And I am glad the gaited horse is going to be the breed to get the ball rolling.
The horses can’t take the role of whistle blowers themselves. I’m all for someone else doing it for them. It’s a different situation than baking cookies or cleaning teeth.
this mob in middle Tn hve been buying Judges ect.for as far back as the 60’ds. its time that somebody speak for the HORSES,its time these types of OWNERS ,TRAINERS All who are apart of the horrible treatment of the TnWalker come to justice.
by what ever means is needed to bring them down, undercover spy, photojournalist, unhappy owner whatever.
IT IS TIME TO STOP SORING and ABUSE.
there is HOPE on the Horizon, i’m not going to go off the deep-end and worry about me me me. my gaited horses are going to be fine even with the CHANGES to the HPA.in time the SHOW RING will Fill with SOUND BEAUTIFUL WALKING HORSES.manes and tails flowing and a crowd standing to yell and watch them.

Further, the “Shelbyville Slime,” as we might aptly call this small but powerful group who dictate “what is best” for the 500,000 owners of the Tennessee Walking Horses
This number is not supported by registrations nor USDA stats. Does anyone know where it came from?
to me
Thank you for contacting The Coca-Cola Company. We appreciate the opportunity to respond.
The Coca-Cola Bottling Works of Tullahoma is a long-time supporter of the local community. We recently signed an agreement to provide beverages at community events hosted at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration arena. These events include high school commencement ceremonies, church retreats and chamber of commerce meetings.
This agreement is not a sponsorship or endorsement of the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration event. It is a beverage supply agreement similar to arrangements we have with other locations such as sports venues and shopping centers.
Coca-Cola is not a sponsor or marketing partner for any events taking place in the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration venue. The Coca-Cola Company’s trademarks will not be used to market or promote any events held at the arena.
Should you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us again.
Sincerely,

I believe that is TOTAL registrations from the inception of the registry, not ‘horses now living’
This from the Institute of Agriculture Department of Agricultural Economics Agricultural Experiment Station
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville
In 2004, there were 62,000 Tennessee Walking Horses accounted for in the state of Tennessee. The primary usage for the breed was for pleasure/sport at 24,900, followed by competition (15,500), breeding (14,900), and other (6,700) (Kenerson and Moore, 2004).

Even assuming high popularity in other states and internationally, I think the 500,000 figure does not represent current stock.

Anyone?
HSUS is no more a ‘legitimate agency’ than I am headed to the Olympics.
If the USDA continues to show up at darn near every HIO-affiliated show and conduct inspections, the TWH show industry as we know it will die on the vine. Rules or no- it’s a death by a thousand cuts.
And that is painful for a lot of decent people and indecent people alike.
Oh! LOL… I know who you are referring to though - not me. My horse is the ner do well white one and I have been a fan of yours for a long long time - even though we do not always agree.
oh, okay. I’m not sure who you are on a white horse, but…Hi
But fear mongering is just that and this roundy round discussion will come up any time anyone wants to put limits or restrictions on activities.
I am not fear mongering. I am pondering a real possibility.
But stall size has nothing to do with a short stack and soring.
Define ‘Humane’. I rest my case on that point.
The only way to stop the ugliness that is done to the gaited horse is through laws. Got to make them tough and clear cut. Cause it is so obviously cruel and it is painfully clear gaited societies and shows can not spot a sored horse from a sound horse cause they fell for the labored mechanical gait.
We’ve had the HPA for 41 years. Has it worked?
ANd don’t tell me I make no sense and I spew passion.
Did I say spew? No. I don’t use that word. I said I disagreed with you, and I meant to convey that I admired your passion, though I disagreed with how you see the bill. Please put your guns away.
It is painfully clear this is a sick mess - no matter who shot the video or put McConnell in the winner’s circle.
sure, it is.
BTW - who were the judges at that WGC Celebration that tied the b@$^%&d??? We need to put them in the hall of fame. Cause you know it was not his first time on the soring or shocking or whacking.
ANd there are others for sure.
of course there are. But shouting at each other from different fence lines doesn’t accomplish a darn thing.
I live in the world of healthcare, HIPAA, privacy and sensitivity of data. I get it. And I am ok with the bill.
Numbers confirmed here, obviously they are using several-years-old numbers on this site:
“To date, there are more than 400,000 horses in the TWHBEA registry system.”

Whew! I’m glad we got that earth shattering detail out the way. It’s importance prevented anyone from moving in any direction.
Without the HSUS, staying in the trenches to STOP SORING,the HPA would have been ignored more than it has.
here’s a funny story for ya,small local show maybe 20 plus classes it was an open show halter to performance.
DQP set up under a very nice tent.well as the day began the trailers came in some big 9 horse vans from around the area, all Walkers.when a state car came on to the grounds and the STATE VET got out those 9 horse vans loaded and left. that was 2003 or 4. i know one of the barns the trainer had 9 violations his wife had 2.
later it was learned that the KY DQP was given well lets call them FAVORS,
this is how it has been for a very long time, some of those horses on those 9 horse vans SORED and would not have passed the STATE VET.
if it takes the HSUS to get this Soring and Abuse GONE than so be it.
Katarine - Maybe I am mistaken as to who I think you are as well. No problem. Reality is we are and always will be flickering dots on a screen to each other - no matter how we rotate the Rubick of this thread.
Now that your pondering case is rested, I hope you turn that volume knob a little to the left and receive this note in the manner I intend it. It is not directed at you on a personal level - but more so at your ponderings as they flicker on this screen.
Having a law against a crime in no way shape or form means that its presence is going to end crime. It is not even going to deter it. It is there solely for the purpose of justice.
HPA worked … to a degree.
Look at where the TWH was before it came on board.
It will work better with improved restrictions and penalties.

We can only hope.
that has always been the problem the decent peopledid nothing they did not refuse to SHOW when the KNOWN soring trainer came in to the show grounds,if they had been the ones to leave and write to the editors of the local papers the SHELBYVILLE SLIME would have been gone long ago.
