"That" clip job at Finals

I love your horse and saddle! That saddle looks so comfy.

Thank you! It’s a Bob Marshall (treeless) that I’ve got on loan until our new Bob gets here. I find it really comfortable, I’ve only been out for 5-6 miles at a time in it, but it’s far more comfortable than the other two we’ve gone in to this point. You really feel the horse width though with a treeless, the one thing my loose, hyper-mobile hips don’t mind!

The boots are definitely not my cup of tea.

The clip job in the OP - I’m neither here nor there on it. My only thought is - how in the hell is a colorful jacket “too distracting” but that clip job is not???

I shall get a hot pink show jacket and I expect zero complaints from anyone.

You know this will require pictures.

 absolutely

I have one, have worn it at rated shows, and didn’t care what anyone else thought because I liked wearing it

LOOOOOVE

Where’d you get it??

It’s been a minute since I’ve competed in the US and I’m in the process of getting all of my stuff updated and sorted. Honestly, with the rules being more relaxed now/allowing for more color, I’m overwhelmed with the options  you’ll probably see me still in traditional black and white because my brain short circuited due to all of the choices :joy:

Love it. Especially with the pad that has the pink as well! You go!!!

Don’t stress, you will be in good company. Most folks still dress traditionally near me.

Ooooo I am not a pink person, but DANG you guys look good. I like the piping on the pad tying it all together. WOWWWW

“That” clip job inspired me to get a little creative with my young 2020 gelding. He is in regular work, appropriate for age, in FL winter… working enough to get a bit warm but not enough to justify a full body clip. A blanket clip is my typical solution. But, hey, he isn’t going to be showing much (if at all) until his hair grows back, so why not try something new?

But then again, trying something “new” and ambitious on a youngster, for his FIRST EVER clip job, wasn’t the best idea. My lines are definitely not straight near his ticklish flanks, but I’m pleased enough with the design (if not the execution). You don’t notice the irregular details when he’s going under saddle anyway; it looks pretty cool when he’s moving. And I think it’s a nice functional clip, too, for his needs.

I like your vision! Some say it looks like he got mauled by a giant tiger. As with any artwork, I suppose interpretation is left to the viewer!

Oh I see that now. Slash marks.

He’s a cutie either way!

I think it looks like racing stripes, like the kind you’d see on a car

It looks like the stripes on the U.S. flag. If you add stars to his rump, you could get the whole effect!
