Holy cow! Drinks are on them tonight!!
Got me wondering if a team of brothers had ever swept a card. Both of these kids can ride.
They’ll be cleaning up with Ramon likely out for the rest of the meet.
On Saturday [Jan 19] , Irad and Jose Ortiz won three races each with Jose being denied a fourth by a nose in the nightcap.
The Ortiz brothers are now 1-2 in Aqueduct’s inner track jockey standings with Jose having 40 and wins and Irad 33. Irad missed a week due to a sprained ankle.
Just look at some of the DRF’s tweets today as the Ortiz show continued its act on MLK Day … DRF’s David Grening’s twitter account
Irad gets fifth win on the card, guiding Revere (7-2) to win Aqu 9th. Ortiz brothers won 30 of the 54 races run this week, 19 of last 27 .
or this additional good fortune
It’s contagious! At Laurel, apprentice Yomar ORTIZ won the first 3 races Monday. He is not related to Irad or Jose.
Jeez its become like the Baze name on the West Coast and Golden Gate Field in particular
Wow! Amazing numbers!
Wow! Just saw the Bloodhorse article, http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/75744/irad-ortiz-wins-five-including-winkfield
Still amazing!! All going his way!
As noted by David Grening’s tweet from Jan 25th
Mother Nature and the stewards have combined to cool off Jose Ortiz. AQU’s leading rider begins a 3-day careless riding suspension on 1-30
