"The Federal Bureau of Investigators (FBI) in Chicago, Illinois, is hoping the offer of a cash reward will help identify those responsible for a fire that destroyed 13 horse carriages belonging to the Noble Horse Theatre.
The Noble Horse Theatre, located in Chicago, offers live performances by horses and their trainers and also offers carriages rides through the city’s tourist destinations.
Special Agent Joan Hyde, media coordinator for the FBI’s Chicago office, said firefighters responded to a blaze at the Noble Horse Theatre in the early morning hours of Feb. 6. The fire destroyed 13 horse carriages worth about $130,000 and caused significant damage to the building, she said. None of the horses residing at Noble Horse stables were harmed, Hyde said.
An investigation revealed that two fires were set in separate carriage storage areas and the words “Save the Horses” and “Freedom” had been spray-painted on two interior walls. Investigators subsequently ruled the fire an arson, Hyde said.
On May 26, Robert Holley, special agent in charge of the Chicago FBI office, announced that a $5,000 cash reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the fire.
