The best and worst prizes at shows

Lots of ribbons are not that specific, like they might say the show name but not the year so they are able to be reused the next year or if that facility hosts a whole series of shows they can be used at the next show.

Sometimes prizes are donated. Donated prizes and not having to pay for the ribbon would be a win for the show.

Another reason to do this is simply that people do sometimes attend a certain show because they like the prizes, and taking home a prize instead of a ribbon is appealing to many.

A bottle of “champagne” that would have been better labeled as paint stripper.

Here’s what those mini lap blankets look like hung on display

I can’t say it ever once occurred to me that those things were mini lap blankets. I have always thought of them as coolerettes, specifically designed for hanging up on display as seen here.

There are much easier to ship and hang up for that purpose than an actual full size cooler.

I think they’re meant to be for display but they could be used as lap blankets too

Okay, that looks nice. Mine has the show embroidered on the Velcro cover piece. The closest thing I could find to what is looks like is this

I think I would have liked getting one like yours.

That might actually be a picnic blanket? I have something from work that looks similar at least when it’s rolled up.
