Kim, the house is still there! The barns and the back field now have pretty houses on them though.

Did you read my post of when I rode there? We were there at the same time, I was just a pesky beginner, and you were the group we idolized. The Advanced kids!!!

Yes, I see that. And I remember working my way up to get into the advanced class!

OKAY now you guys have seriously blown me away.
Like I wasn’t all ready with your kindness and generosity. I got home about 15 minutes ago, and , and was in the bathroom when I heard a knock on the door, no one EVER comes here, I looked out and a woman was standing there holding a big green shopping bag. I opened the door and she said, Are you Kim? I said yes, she said I was asked to deliver this, from Anderson And Girls
Huh?? I said who is it from she said no idea. we chatted for a while, sweet lady.
But what was in the bag is to die for. I want to know how this person knew that Anderson and Girls is one of my local Guilty pleasures, and about 7 minutes from my house, and that EVERYTHING in the bag is just what i love.
They have the BEST baked goods. And I got fresh strawberries, and blueberrie muffins, and string cheese, Amish, and cheddar cheese, and cookies, and breakfast cinnamon rolls, and strawberry Rhubarb preserves. AND a gift card.
I cannot thank you enough, and I know what is written on the card, but who are you? And how did you know about one of my favorite places?
Today has been a great day, I may have done more than usual, but I feel good, like myself, and I am going to take what I can get, every day.
Off to try one of the Blueberry muffins!!! Love you all, Kim (((((HUGS)))))

I also sent you something that would have made sense had it come together but the shipped sent it in two parts and so I imagine you are very confused. Sorry!

I am the Anderson And Girls gifter — I am also an amateur/bordering on expert detective/google searcher. You kept writing that you wanted fresh produce and I felt so, so sorry that the woodchucks ripped up your garden.

Where I grew up in MA (I am in SC now), we have wonderful produce stands and there are places that will deliver for special circumstances. I knew also that there are some grocery stores that will deliver, so I just kept googling and googling. I put Stanton, MI into Google and kept querying about fresh produce delivery. I had lots of hits, but all the delivery places were too far away.

Finally, I just put your address into Google and hit “go” and a map popped up showing me where you lived and I could not believe it but Anderson Girls Farm was starred and it looked very close to you. So I called them up and told them that I wanted to send a gift including fresh produce and most especially a fresh tomato, but I thought maybe tomatoes are not ready yet (you had posted maybe by the first week of July they would be available locally). Amy confirmed this but said their strawberries were beautiful. So as we chatted, and I looked at their website, between the two of us we came up with what was in the basket. The gift card is so you can go get that fresh tomato when it is ready! They told me they were more than glad to deliver, as you are just a few minutes from their farm. The card was supposed to say “COTH Jingles from SCM1959” – and no, you do not know me, but I have read your posts for a long time, so I feel like I know you. I take notice of what the Schoolmasters have to say!

When I read about your enjoyable morning, I was so excited because I knew the basket was coming today. Hooray for GOOD Tuesdays, right?

As an aside, it is sort of creepy - Big Brotherish/1984 that Google picked up on my search for fresh produce delivery and took it upon itself to star Anderson Girls close to your address. Listen for the “Twilight Zone” music

I hope you will take your trip to Long Island, too. It is so beautiful there in the summer. My good childhood friend lives in Oceanside and a group of us visited with her a few years ago. We got in her car and just drove
stopped for lobster rolls, went to two wineries (one had horses!)
 it is so beautiful there!

WOW!!! Yes I saw the COTH name on the card, but did not recognize it.
All I can say is WOW, you are amazing! I cannot thank you enough.
As an aside the woman who delivered it said just call and ask for Rachel and if I want ANYTHING, she will bring it to me. She hugged me, and said she was a Beast Cancer Survivor.
Cancer makes strange bedfellows.
But truthfully all of you, I do not think I have ever experienced this much generosity and kindness ever, and from complete strangers, well, maybe it is horse folk, but I know it is much more than that.
All of you have made me feel loved and cared about, and that when I am gone, folks might say, Yeah, I remember Sannois. Okay, no crying!!
OH AND I went out to the garage to grab something out of the Jeep, and I heard a horn, there was a UPS truck in the driveway, He brought me a Derby Pie, From a Kentucky COTHER Looks amazing a decadent

WOW, Most of those things are in the freezer, cause I would make myself sick if I ate all this too soon.
But My fridge after grocery shopping, and the freezer will hold me for goodies for some time.
And Wheres my White, is an Amazing Photographer, she sent me from Snap fish a batch of her work, I hade seen some that she emailed me, but she is so talented.
What I want to know is Who is the combined driver?? You??
AND A Finger Rotator, It lights up, and I know it is supposed to do something, But it has no instructions and I am not up to date on the latest gadgets.
And I am not sure of her COTH name.
And more cards!!!

I do indeed!!! (((((((HUGS TO ALL OF YOU))))))))

And I did. ZU ZU has me loaded up on the coffee for a while. And I had a muffin. YUUUUMM!!!
I for some reason bought some heavy cream at the grocery store this morning, in the hopes of going to get some berries, and now I have them, and I am going to make some home made whipped cream.
Never touch the canned stuff or cool whip. Yep another food snob thing, just like the BLT. LOL
Let’s just say the 20 lbs I have dropped without trying might sneak back on if I am not careful, And I finally have been able to get into my jeans that I loved but were too dang tight for the last few years!
You know the ones, nicely worn in, and oh so comfy, but not too old that you would throw them away cause they were too tight.:winkgrin:

Kim, I picked a variety of photos I’ve taken over a number of years and hoped there would be a few that struck your fancy.

The CD shots are, no, not me  Many years ago there was a CD at the Colorado Horse Park. I scribed on dressage day and had a blast. The judge was awesome in explaining the differences between ridden and driven dressage as well as how he was scoring. By the end of the day, he’d ask me how I would have scored a movement and we’d compare scores. I’m sure my scores made no difference to his but fun to see if I was seeing the same things he was. The day was cold, windy and drizzle-y.

The following day was obstacles and I had a blast watching and taking photos. We had singles and two in hand. Wish there had been 4 in hand but no :frowning: Fun finding the best place for photos and watching the teams navigate the obstacles, particularly the higher level teams that had the fancy CD carts  Got to watch a few times when the navigator had to “dismount” to lead the horse(s) into the water obstacle and then hop back on!

The glass sculptures are Dale Chihuly, mostly taken at the Denver Botanical Garden.

I will confess I can’t even begin to top the yummy fresh produce bag from SCM1959 :encouragement::applause:

Heavy cream
that’s all I put in my coffee (and yes, I also get from a local coffee roaster although for me, no longer as local as they’re still in Colorado Springs and I no longer am). Coffee from local roasters are the best
my ‘go to’ is Sumatra although I also like Zimbabwe and Malawi but those are harder to come by.

FWIW, so what if you gain 20 lbs
 you need the weight

Okay MORE cards!!! IT is like Christmas, although not one I ever had. LOL
First off, how will I ever be able to thank all of you for your sincere words, and generosity.
You are making this time, bearable. I really do not feel alone. I forget when I feel good that this is real.
that is the sad part, and the scary part.
I think there may be some of you that do not agree with or understand why I quit the Chemo after only one round, and I get that I do. But I had to weigh the odds, and I know how bad this is, and that I will not be “Cured” only bought some time, but at what cost?? To feel like shit for months on end, only to break my sick body down more.
Here is something I learned today, I went to my mechanics so Ex could get his Nissan back, I adore this man,
and his wife, he is the most honest amazing mechanic I have ever had.
They both know about my cancer. We were chatting, and looking at a Hot Rod he was working on for a close friend,
I asked who it was, he said oh this is one of my best friends cars, He is Dying from MFK Lymphomia.
Want to know what MFK stands for, Mother Fruitin Killer.
he is 42 yrs old has two young children and a wife, has been doing Chemo and Stem cell for over a year, and he now looks like a 70 year old man. he got to spend no quality time with his kids, was too sick, and he maybe has a month left if that.
Okay I get why people try, having a family and being young, hell yeah. But that is the ugly truth about a lot of the chemo treatments. And I wanted no part of it, having had just one taste of it. and even a week later I am not totally over it. The nurses and Nurse practitioner both had told me, no it will not get easier, it weakens your body each infusion, and it is harder to recover after each one.
Yes it has cured many patients, many who were stage one or two, even 3. and some 4. For some time.
But I was not willing to go down that road. I have never been good at not feeling well,
Never. And while I have no clue what is to come, I am going to take it, one day at a time, and with all your love and support you are making it so much more bearable. you will never know what this means to me.
Okay, Crying again. Love you guys! Kim

Oh, Kim! Of course you get to make this of all choices! If you can’t decide this, what can you decide? You get to choose what you want, what makes sense for you and don’t have to defend it to anyone! If people don’t understand, move on! And, from an earlier post of yours, bring up hard topics! You have nothing to lose and you might be surprised about who shows up, ready and able to have that talk.

It does not matter one little bit who understands or agrees, this, of all things is your choice, and everyone else can just get on with it. You do not need to justify or explain, to anyone.

Me, I believe we have moved away from accepting some things, everyone wants to fight, to try, to FIX it dammit. The reality is, we all came into this world, we will all eventually leave it. My main thing with the heroic efforts often put into rescue animals, like prosthetic legs for horses
just because we can, does not mean we should.

You, and only you get to make that choice for yourself, “just because we can, should we?” As you say, every decision has a cost, and if the cost of fighting ruins the quality of life, then embracing what is, and feeling comfortable with it, is the best choice for you.
