I will check out the film–I’ve never seen it before! But what I really loved was the book.

Thank you! It was released on DVD once upon a time but whenever I’ve looked it’s been unobtainable. (I hadn’t actually seen it, but our copy of the book is very-well-loved, and I’ve a small connection to the Porlock Vale staff and have always been curious!)

My guess is the DVD wasn’t authorized, and was removed for copyright violations. People used to film movies off the satellite services (the big dishes they used to have, not the small ones they have now), and sell the copies. They were terrible copies too.
I wish Disney, or whoever holds the rights would put this one out, I’d love to have a copy.
