"The Last Cowboy"by Taylor Sheridan on Paramount Network

I don’t have a “case”. I said it was my opinion. I stand by it. The responses keep defending why it’s ok. Defend Mandy or whatever non-pro you feel good about defending. I think it’s unethical. Always have, always will. As far as resentment? There is no resentment on my part…only what the truth of what is and how it SHOULD be. I know it’s a pay-to-play game. It always has been. I know it is what it is. It doesn’t make it right… committees, rules, special people, trainers, trainers wives, whatever…this does not make it right or a level playing field no matter what. I stand by what I said. If you guys love it and love being a part, keep on keeping on.

Anyways, back to the run for a billion of whatever it is. I’m out of the discussion.

I paid on youtube to watch the last two episodes. Wow seems like a fun event to go to!

I’m trying to keep an eye out for the full length runs with color commentary ala the Dany Tremblay video posted earlier on this thread. I would for sure pay to watch that!

Watch the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity, those commentators really explain what judges are looking for extremely well, very interesting.

The ones in the bigger reining competitions do also, but are more careful with their words, not really calling out but the basic faults.
I think they are deferring to the judges, as they should, really.
Reining is more technical than working cowhorse in their dry work, way more demanding in the degree of difficulty, so it is good to watch both.

Watching and listening commentaries is how we can help educating our eyes to what all is going on and what to watch for.
Not as easy as counting the poles that fell down and looking at the time as in other competitions.

So I tried watching this up to episode five, but really dissapointed that there is practically nothing about the horses as individuals other than if they can win. The people making the tv show could have done a lot more to include more about the equine athletes themselves. It’s kind of like the riders are just looking for a machine or something. I’m sure that they do care a lot about the horses as individuals etc., but the show just ignores that as viewers we could become more invested in the horses.
