The Maestro has written another book

I haven’t seen any kind of proof that the horse could actually do a GP test. Nada. Is there a video that exist somewhere of the horse working through the movements? I’m not talking about competing- that would be asking way to much. Just a horse putting together the movements for a GP level test.

More like a monkey gently humping a football…

Absolutely nothing to prove what he says.

You can’t copy and paste from his blog but check out the question regarding how many FEI horses he has trained. He won’t answer out of “respect for other trainers.”

Head, meet desk. I get nauseous reading these answers.

ETA: oh wait, he competed Chevy at a GP schooling show. Because, you know, those exist.

Gently caress is my polite adjective for the f word. Lol.

I feel dismayed that at his age, using a computer one assumes has spell check, he can’t spell, ie “tear” … :exploding_head:

Dressage is about details, minutea, building a foundation before the house, the basics that come before the fancy stuff… Dude. Celebrated Author… pay attention to details. Like spelling.

I’m 99% sure that Nick and Chevy never actually strung together a GP test, and that he believes that his ability to get Chevy to kinda-sorta trot in place by dry humping the saddle is proof enough that he did “Grand Prix dressage.”

Have I mentioned that I am a race car driver? No, I don’t do it right now, but I have driven my car really, really fast. The people in the car can’t speak about it, because they might get arrested, er, abused. Therefore, I can talk about how great I am at it, and reference witnesses to this great feat without using their names.

Great comparison. Gave me a good laugh.

Fascinating that Nick didn’t want this (imaginary supporter) person to write this…yet somehow it got posted on Nick’s blog. I wonder how on earth that happened?

As to riding talented horses!

There’s a show in 10 days, currently hoping my guy will be sound enough to bumble through walk trot with me. If he isn’t my BO is lending me her Friesian who would be an equivalent of 2nd level I guess.

My choice is be embarrassed riding the good horse at walk trot and try not to :duck: it up.

Or

Ride a higher test, knowing that he WILL highlight my inadequacy in the worst way, but it would be a blast.

I have no thought that he will perform for me, as he does her, there is not enough saddle time before the show for us to WORK, at being a pair. I know the likes of Toddy can get on a horse he has never ridden and get around Badminton, but most of us have to work at it.

The Maestro has simply not had enough saddle time in his life, and certainly not enough instruction to understand what he is talking about.

Because this video should never die…

For comparison, we have the Maestro’s passionate humpassage, where for a moment, he impresses us with a backwards walk, where his reins of silk and delicate seat aren’t producing a moment of tension… just pure passion (cough)…

Compared to the terrible, inadequate, Charlotte D., and her awful, passionless attempt at passage and piaffe… what a disgrace.

Clearly the Maestro has every right to judge her.

That Chevy video is the gift that keeps on giving! I have been dealing with a sick dog complete with shampooing the carpet three times today and spending time in the vet’s office and it still made me laugh out loud. That poor horse truly was a saint.

Chevy did a GP test. One of his students (10yo) judged it, he got an 85% just like his freestyle

How long do you think Nick would have lasted working at Iron Spring Farm with his attitude of “I know/do everything better than you”? He cannot take correction, especially if it comes from a woman.

I think he might have made it a week, depending on how many times he ignored or challenged instructions from his superiors.

I’d give him three minutes with the boss.
Frankly, I’d pay money to see that.

I bid 10 minutes. That includes firing him.

For example, I’m sure they’d appreciate his advice on how all horses should be stalled 24/7.
