I believe there are some people in the world whose sole reason for existence is to be a walking cautionary tale.
In that regard, I suppose one could say he gives lessons.
You’d think he’d learn, being unable to keep a student when he does dupe one into take a lesson.

Oh, but they’re too inept to master the Reins of Silk™ or the Crotch-Bounce Piaffe™. Clearly, he can’t keep them in his program. (Also, they might have a bathrobe somewhere in their house.)
He’s to busy going full out Trump supporter to ride anyway.
He doesn’t ride because he doesn’t have a horse.

He doesn’t ride because he doesn’t have a horse.
I recall when I was younger reading a book that IIRC was written by a former cavalry officer.
He said that a true horseman will always have a horse to ride whehter he can afford to own one or not, because people will be happy to offer him rides.
Don’t see that happening here.
He suckered the one woman into it, the one who had her horse already going 2nd level (Chill Factor, I think was the horse’s name).
IIRC Nick was just supposed to ride the horse enough to keep him fit, not attempt to put additional “training” on him. Someone here had the full story at the time (@AmbitiousKate ?)
Most horseless people, especially star-struck beginners, would have been overjoyed at the opportunity and followed the owner’s instructions to the letter out of gratitude. But Nick always has to let his ego take charge.
Long story short, the ride got yanked. But not before Nick got bragging rights by “winning” a class at a show as the only entrant. Then he got the year-end participation ribbon that everyone who competed in a show in the region that year received. Of course he spun it into a much bigger deal than it was.
Since then I don’t believe he’s had any takers on his offer to train horses “for free”.

But Nick always has to let his ego take charge.
Of course. He could never allow himself to be content as an anonymous instructor for his local horse community.
His lack of humility and an apparent aversion to hard work are what ultimately undermined whatever dream he had of coaching and riding. He has no one to blame for his sense of aggrievement than himself.
See post #885 for a reminder of his hubris.
So…he’s being contacted for lessons but he’s not riding or training ATM. How does that work? People contact him and decide they don’t want to pursue the relationship or give him the benefit of doubt, have one lesson and decide to abandon the endeavor?
Also, “ax”…
Now why would he have included the tidbit “if you actually know what you’re doing”?
Seems like some sort of perverse reverse psychology to use as a reference.
Oh, wait… I forgot who I was quoting
Oh, what childish games he plays.
Just as this thread fades into obscurity, he has to neener-neener COTH posters by claiming that disparaging comments about him and his book are, ironically, creating a whirlwind of inquiries for his training.
How very third-grade of him.

He can’t even keep the sand in the sand box. You know, the little one on the playground. Not the big one…
It must really get to him, as he rides around on his lawnmower, just wishing he could ride a horse. If he could, and someone would let him!
You made me laugh. I have a kitty cat who is quite the drama queen in her litter box. I have to spread towels all around the floor. That stuff can fly!
Careful With That Ax, Nick

He doesn’t ride because he doesn’t have a horse.
He doesn’t ride because he’s too bloated. Have you seen pictures of him? He looks seriously unwell.
