Do you (general person here) think NP actually thought this book would change the mind of everyone out there or do you think that NP just likes attention and negative attention is just as good as positive attention to him?
I honestly think it would have disappointed him if his new literary effort had gone unremarked upon here.
When I first saw the announcement, I half-hoped heād be ignored.
I feel like he looks at himself as a Trump-like figure. That in his mind, everyone is out to get him because theyāre jealous losers or whatever Trumpism you would like to insert there, and that he can control a narrative of his own to counter the āfake newsā.
I like the way you reach! Makes me recall the immortal Otis Reddingās āThey call me Mr. Pitiful.ā
They call me Mr. Pitiful
Baby thats my name now, oh
They call me Mr. Pitiful
Thatās how I got my fameā¦
For me, I view it as any attention is better than none. I do think that he believed that he could tell his version of the story, and be somehow vindicated. That aināt happening.
He spins it into ātheyāre doing this to me because I am so wonderful, and theyāre jealous!ā and somehow, it validates him, but only to him.
If heād been ignored, it would probably have been better. Clearly, that didnāt happenā¦
Oh yes, he relates to the persecuted white male fragility, for sure
Itās one of those āhard to ignoreā catastrophes
If we werenāt so familiar with NPās butchery of his native language, this review would make no sense:
āthe hate squad swamp town is riping him a partā
Huh?
He seems to like to conserve on consonants, as if heās only allotted a set number to last his lifetime. Iāve seen numerous references to ātrotingā horses.
Nick has tried to get into the local school system a few times. Thankfully, he failed every single attempt. The closest he ever got was getting his name on the school board candidate list as a Democrat, even though heās a Republican, but he failed to get enough votes to get on the ballot for the actual election. Another time, he put his name out there, but couldnāt be bothered to turn in the paperwork to actually run.
He also didnāt bother to show up for a āmeet the candidatesā event when he tried for school board in 2015.
I think that was the year he got 10% of the vote. Iām surprised he got that many votes.
Is that legal - for a person person registered in one party to put their name in as a candidate from the other party? That is not only sketchy it would be really low to take up a slot that should go to someone actually from that party.
AFAIK, it is perfectly legal to run as a candidate for one party while being registered with itās opposition, but it is certainly frowned upon, or so we would think. I donāt know what would happen if someone did that (and winning would certainly complicate things) while actually holding an elected position in an opposing party, but I suspect it would cause political turmoil and removal.
Interesting, thank you. I thought registration with a party would prevent that, so thanks for explaining.
What a move to run as a candidate for the opposite party, but I guess given everything Iāve learned about this individual, not surprising in the least.
Nick was once a Democrat.
Like his āheroā?
I loved FSH when it was thriving - so much fun and so many characters. ddranch who was above us all and always let us know it - he shows up as a Guest in that linked thread as he did a spectacular drama queen flounce and deleted his account⦠Brian Rad and his armed kitties⦠pdj - irascible old cowboy in Nebraska who longed to see Obama in an orange jumpsuit in with ankle cuffsā¦
Many times behind the scenes FSHies reached out and helped each other - and when pdj became very ill and died, those in his area reached out to his family and helped them out with the horses and other issues. Such rotten cyberbullies.
I think he figured it was his way to present his version of controversial events that have clung to him like hairballs on an old mop.
With a book, no one can challenge him or call him out in real time. Yet I donāt doubt that his version of history has been manipulated and embellished. After all, he uses falsified names, so itās not a difficult reach to figure he probably altered other facts, too.
I donāt think he really cares if anyone changes their mind and believes in the Legend of the Maestro. Writing the book served as a catharsis, where he got to air his grievances and whine about how the world has always been against him.
Am I the only one who is grossed out that Nick, on a fish tank forum, had the screen name JAWS69?
(Must point out two things: 1.) He got banned from that forum; and 2.) He apparently has struggled with writing intelligibly for years).
No, you arenāt. The reference is obvious since he was not born in 1969. Yuck. Not an association I like.
