The Maestro has written another book

That video just makes me sad. Nick - if you actually were the high level rider you claim/want to be (without wanting to put in the work involved to get there), your only ride now would not be a lawnmower. If you were so sensational, so dedicated, and worked hard, word would get out and you might actually have regular students and do some clinics. You seem to crave the minuscule bit of attention you might get from the odd thread on this forum that pops up in response to something YOU have done… it also gives you an excuse to NOT be out there working with horses. That way you can blame “haters” or whatever other label you like to slap around (or claim that some judge said)… and not your abilities or dedication or drive to be that great rider/trainer. It has become your very convenient excuse to NOT put in the long hard hours that all of us out here actually working with horses (as in, not losers) do day in and day out. No matter how miserable the weather is or how sick/tired we are or how late it is or how much our knees/shoulders/back are bothering us… we are out there working hard.

There is nothing wrong at all with being a great dad and mowing that lawn and enjoying family and life - but it obviously bothers you enough to devote 8 minutes of that precious life to an awkward self-aggrandizing rant with even more awkward forced chuckles/laughter.

The “fake” reviews you whine about - does that include the ones using your usual verbiage and phrases? You have only yourself to blame for a lot of the comments that come your way. You used to post on threads under fake screen names to praise yourself… who does that?

And no, you are not the number one topic on this forum (who even fixates on that - or cares?) … topics rise and fall constantly - but one glance at the post count to the right of the topic titles shows that the Barisone case beats you hands down in the Dressage forum. Outside of Dressage, you have a long way to go to catch up with current threads on Safe Sport, Rich Fellers, Re-rider support, Afghanistan, Coronavirus etc.

Be that good dad. Maybe get back into horses again at some point and just enjoy them as opposed to seeing them as a tool you can use to Be Very Important. There is nothing wrong with teaching/helping beginners… and not riding a 85% Grand Prix Kur. Better yet - take some lessons (I know you think you are beyond that but even Dr. Klimke took lessons). Maybe on that schoolmaster you sneer about others riding, not realizing or understanding how much they can teach you - or show you how little you actually know.

Once upon a time, I asked you a question/sought clarification on something you were demonstrating and “teaching” on your FB page. Using my real name - not hiding behind a screen name like kellydressage or nickwasright. You were disgusted that I would dare to suggest that anything you were doing was less than perfection, did not actually want to consider the questions you claim to want, and sent me a couple of vile messages (with language befitting a drunk longshoreman) announcing that you were blocking me and letting me know that I was an idiot to not recognize your genius etc. etc. That is no way to hang out your shingle as a trainer, have stalls and students at a barn and conduct oneself like an actual horseman.

And yet for some reason that is how you wish to conduct business… by playing the victim… by berating anyone who does not praise you in the correct way…

I hope you can find the joy in horses again at some point - as opposed to seeing everything as a loser conspiracy based on non-existent jealousy…

As for me… I have a long day ahead on bad knees out there in the rain… actually working with horses. And I will not be posting a whiny rant on FB about it - or about those who seem to think I am a clueless loser. I will be putting in the time those horses need… not just whatever is convenient for me.

A rhetorical question…why doesn’t Nick provide the link to this thread on his FB page, rather than rant about it in posts and videos?

Maybe he should let his “Dressage Supporters” make up their own minds about Swamp Town rather than spoon feed his opinions. Now that would be the democratic (small -d) approach, no?

I think he’s too afraid. Maybe he will prove me wrong.

So we’re all “doing exactly what I said they would do!” in talking about him.

I’ll be generous and let him have that one. Congratulations, [edit], you got one thing right.

I refuse to give him video clicks.

What does he carry on about this time? Anything new?

No. Just complaining that no one here will pay his travel expenses to let him come to their farm so he can show us how much he knows. He goes on about how dumb we are, how great he is and how he doesn’t care what we think of his book.

He did make the mistake of saying that Devon “gave” his horse a trophy but then quickly corrected himself.

If someone does this and posts the link here, I’ll buy.

That hot mess of a video had some memorable lines. Among my favorites was this passage:
“I am a great trainer. I am a great rider. I do know my stuff.”

Reminds me of someone else in oh so many ways…

I’m not gonna lie. The laughing in the video creeps me out a bit. I realize his intention is to make it seem like he doesn’t care, but it reminds me of that laugh someone does when they’re in a heated argument right before they lose it and just snap. It’s like the mouth is laughing, but the eyes show something completely different. Something, I don’t know, kinda Shutter Islandy?

You know when you’re owning the narrative the least you could do is look at the camera.

At least he’s finally found a correct mount.

Seems a bit underpowered.

I very proudly paid twice as much as the book is worth to mail it to a reader. I left the post office feeling quite happy.

Cardbourdeaux does help. Something stronger helps more.

The silly little thing that bothered me was his quote in a previous post about a horse he was riding. He called it a “mutt”. Really? The most wonderful, patient, and best horses that I’ve learned so much on were “mutts” (he doesn’t even know the term ‘grade’). That horse deserved better.

I’m being nitpicky, but I think any horse can be great in their own way, no matter what kind they are.

If NP didn’t say that, I apologize, but someone did and it offended me a bit.

A Not Very Horsey friend of mine thought I was saying great horses instead of grade… which, for many of them, was completely appropriate.

It is sad, because he seems unaware that the reason that people on the COTH forums don’t think well of him is his own doing.

He has been dishonest , posted pictures of other people’s farms and claimed he trained there when they didn’t know him, was incredibly rude and stalker-ish to a COTH member that he lied to in order to get a job interview (which when actually put on a horse he failed miserably.)

His hate for others is online for the world to see. His own racist, homophobic words are horrifying and have nothing to do with COTH members.

It’s sad that after all this time he still doesn’t realize that he is his own worst enemy. I hope that his "psychotherapist " friend is giving him some advice to help him deal with his misplaced anger.

I am surprised that he is still banging on about having COTH members pay his travel expenses to come to their farms and give a “clinic”. Why he would think that anyone here would want him on their property and/or believe he has anything to teach is beyond me. He’s barking up the wrong tree and after all this time he still doesn’t realize it.

The horse world can be a strange place, but there is one thing that is certain, you cannot lie about your credentials and try to take money from people who know better and then expect to be liked. Just try being an honest human being, it’s not that hard.

That fake laughter and odd chuckling is an absolute “tell” of how bothered someone actually is, his pet “psychotherapist” would tell him that, and it’s so obvious that he’s bothered because he spent EIGHT MINUTES telling us why he isn’t.

Shame she’s allying herself with him. Maybe she should host him for a clinic! Think he’ll hit her up for one?

What this person seems to miss completely is that “dreaming about a career in the horse industry” is not enough. It takes an incredible amount of hard work.

I could “dream” about a career as a teacher of mathematics or theoretical physics or of ballet dancing, but to have such a career takes aptitude and years of study and is not something that can be achieved without first becoming proficient yourself, which requires instruction along with that aptitude.

Just as with any difficult endeavor, excelling to the point of being a teacher and training horses and riders, is not achieved in your back yard. The fulfillment of your career “dreams” takes hard work and good instruction as well as some physical talent.

Yes, life is not fair. We can’t have all of our “dreams” come true and it is not the fault of others that for whatever reason, people who dream of being an expert in a certain subject are unable to fulfill their dream to become experts and be qualified to teach, especially when they are unwilling to put in the required work.

Mr. Peronace has had no riding instruction for decades. You can’t make a career training horses or riders that way. There are no shortcuts to your “dreams” of a career in the horse world. It takes hard work. Blaming others for your failure to fulfill your “dreams” does not reflect a healthy mind.
