I live in Tryon. We are technically “The Foothills”, not the mountains and run about 6-8 degrees warmer than Asheville and other mountain locations. TIEC is hot and dusty. Built in a bowl, so quite often there is no breeze. Very little shade or grass. They may have addressed the shade with some temporary tents. Mid to upper 60’s in the mornings. Mid to upper 80’s during the day. With the threat of Florence this may all change. Comfortable shoes, packable rain coat, and since I run hot I’m wearing shorts.
To the southern gals, they make flasks that look like sun screen tubes—just an FYI. :yes:!
They even make flasks that look like bracelets! :lol:
And one that looks like a box of tampons, :eek: IIRC!
