There is no audio and I can’t read the bridle numbers very well, but I think we are seeing the Diarado colts at the moment.
Looks like they are pretty close to getting started with the OL colts. Catalog can be seen here - http://www.oldenburger-pferde.com/pferde/index_3443.php .
Results are up -

Can’t wait to hear first hand reports comments from Nancy, Stephanie, Marne, and others. I am sure Stephanie will also have lots of good video footage.

Does anybody else get a really big echo with the sound? (Because of course I can understand German…!!!)
Never mind. Duh. We had it open in two windows on the computer all morning!!!
Big auction prices for the dressage stallions!

- Fürst Romancier / Sir Donnerhall I / Don Schufro stays in Germany for 750,000E
- Dr. Doolittle / Rubino Rosso / Argentinus stays in Germany for 210,000E

Glad the recession is over for some folks!
Check In/Rio Zeus/Zeus
I see from the results the Check In/Rio Zeus/Zeus stallion sold to Canada. Anyone know the details? Is he going to be imported and standing at stud? Competed?

The USA sold horse, for 800000 euros, was sold to actor Tom Welling and his wife Jaime White. He played Clark Kent on Smallville.
It was a nice licensing and fun to see / hang out with everyone.
The Temptation son seems one of the best character stallions from that father line, so that is why partly there was so much interest. I remember us seeing Temptation when he came to the licensing and he was “en fuego.” The mother line is Sandro Hit - Master and Swedish. The stallion was really quite refined and elegant with three excellent gaits. I am sure they will do a good job with him and glad he stays in Germany for breeding so people have a chance.
The Furst Romancier who was another beautiful, typey stallion will go to Lodbergen. They are developing quite the collection. I believe both of these will get lots of breedings.
I really liked the Quaterback - Stedinger. To me he far deserved to be the Reserve Champion. He is interesting for breeding, as well as I am interested a great deal in the Dimaggio - Landadel young stallion.
The Fidertanz - Don Schufro is a beautiful horse, but I was a bit disappointed with him in person. The Dr. Doolitte was bought for sport I believe, and I expect he will be a really super sport stallion. That cross has only produced nice horses and there are a number of full siblings.
I also quite liked the Sarkozy - Michelangelo and the Sir Donnerhall - Quattro, although wasn’t as inspired by them as I was the four young stallions I mentioned first.
From the Althengst Parade, the two young FEI stallions that I liked best were Rubinio and Florenciano, who looked super.
Furstenball looked very impressive, albeit with some tension as they now start training him for the six year olds. I hope that Astrid posts some photos she took of him though because wow! Does he have potential for the collected work.
I also really liked Dante Weltino. For a four year old, they showed a lot of trot, and it was very easy for him. I wish they had ridden a more open and forward canter since he has a good canter but the back was a bit tight in the presentation. I am really happy with my colt by him from Royal Coeur, so it was great to see him looking so well.
I agree from a different thread where Nancy commented that Markus did have Fidertanz looking the best I have seen him in years, and also Farewell looked more confirmed.
Some of the other dressage stallions unfortunately looked worse and rather disappointing, but that is how it goes sometimes.
I always love to see the jumpers. Lestat owned by Dreamscape Farm was a three year old superstar!!! And another Lordanos son I had not known before but really liked was Light On from the Althengst Parade. I also liked the jumping of his son in the licensing. My favorite jumper from the licensing was the Chacco Blue. That one could be a super high dollar hunter given his top quality movement and look as well. He had a better front leg than many of the dressage stallions in the licensing - LOL. The Arnoldts bought 15 who is also a very good jumper, who moves in a hunter sort of way.
Seeing Caspar - Eurocommerce Berlin come in was also really super. What an old great guy with amazing scope. They also showed Contendro and Last Man Standing in jumping demonstrations, so that was really unique too to see the older semi-retired breeding stallions again.
I was at the licensing too and it was clear that the selectors are going for a very specific stamp of horse at the moment. At one stage my friend and I were writing “yet another nice, brown horse” in the catalogue.
What I don’t understand is why they licensed one stallion who was very nice but significantly back at the knee and another who was so cow hocked his hocks hit each other on every stride.
The Temptation was a good mover but, to my eyes, soft in the hind leg. I worry about his long term soundness. If he does stay sound he could be amazing.
The Furst Romanciers were both very nice. I think he is going to be a big name stallion in the future. We also really rated the Sarkozy x Michelangelo (Trak) which is saying something as I don’t generally like the S line.
My favourite unlicensed stallion was the Breitling W out of a Dodona line mare. How could they turn such genetics down? I think he will become a superb sports stallion as his trainability just oozed out of him.
Hi all,
It was a long week and the work is just getting started, but what incredible horses! The videos of #83 - Temptation x Sandro Hit and the Champion of the Oldenburg licensing #59 - Fuerst Romancier x Sir Donnerhall I are both up at www.oldenburghorse.com.
Much more soon!
The video of the OS Champion is also now up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOszIXZWX7c&feature=youtube_gdata
Working on a highlights video of the Premium stallions now.
Enjoy!
