The Peddies look perfect! One question, do they come up the ankle quite a bit or does the padding stop at the ankle bone?

Mine go over the ankle bone. I do have tiny feet so they might fit differently
Pikeur socks are my favorite… warm too 
I love animo socks. They are a thin sock but have thicker sections where you need reinforcement like the inside of the calf, the foot, and ankle bones.
Another vote for Noble. I have one pair of The Best Dang Boot socks I just got… and I will be buying more. Awesome socks, padded foot, but thin on the calf area. Love.
