What can anyone tell me about these guys and where they ended up? Or about any offspring out there competing today?
oh my gosh…I’ve had several of those offspring over the years and LOVED them. I found them to be jumping MACHINES. They seem to fall into two camps, though and I say this from knowing seven of them still in this area. They either were sound as a dollar, or they were lame very early on in their life. Every single one of them was big, grey, mediocre movers, but brave, scopey, and LOVED LOVED LOVED to jump. Most of them did the hunters but the one I rode for years could jump 4’ + in his sleep. At 21 years old he is now doing walk trot with a nine year old student of mine. If I came across one and it was sound, I would scoop it up in a second! It’s not a mare by chance??? Call me if you want more input
this is a mare I worked with for years out of Jessamy’s program…
I owned a Landkoenig son out of the Rouson-bred show jumper Captiva who was sired by the Silver Baron. I bought the colt as a yearling from VaTech at their annual sale in '06. This colt named Le Premier finished at 18 hands and was a very good jumper, very unfussed about his surroundings or a jump’s appearance, and had a super, laid-back temperament. Thanks to the influence of both parents, he finished at 18 hands. However, he did not have sound feet and was given away at age 6 after I’d spent quite a bit of time and money to develop him. It was a shame, as he was a talent.

Diane, unfortunately, that seems to be the story for a lot of them…
That is why I thought I would post and why your comments interested me.
Thanks DianeHalpin & horsechick! Horsechick - keep me posted!
Well I know this is very old but I’ve been looking for more information about my former gelding’s pedigree and stumbled upon this thread and thought you might be interested. He (originally named Tumbling Dice but we changed his name to Milestone) was bred by Diana Dodge at Nokomis Farm in Keswick in 1999, by The Silver Card out of Falling Water. He was just such a wonderful horse, from what I recall he did pretty well in conformation classes around Virginia as a youngster. Good jumper and very laid back. We showed a bit in the Children’s divisions, he is retired now and living the good life. He had a sibling named Souvenir out at Hunter’s Way (with Peg Seals) who was also a lovely horse - once the two boys were champion and reserve in the same division!
