The Royal Winter Fair and a Small Brag.

Living vicariously these days.

I was very excited to get a FB message that one of my homebreds Rodeo Drive (by A Fine Romance) was competing at the Royal Winter Fair in the AAs 18-35.
We went down on Mon night to see him show in his first class, OF, and he placed 3rd, in very good company.
It was so great to see him, going well, looking great and to see him with good owners/trainer/rider and people who love him.
Yesterday morning he WON the Stake and was Reserve Champion of his division!

I’ll try to post pics and video link.
Thank you to his owners for remembering the breeder.

Anyone else get down to the Royal, or planning to go, this year?

It must be really rewarding to have your own homebred showing and winning at the Royal! Congratulations

I was there most of last Saturday sepctating and exploring as it was my first time there. I really enjoyed the variety of events as it is an agricultural show, and got to see some of the farm animals, butter carving, and wide variety of vendors. I might end up going again this Saturday if I could round up some horse buddies (it was just my dog and I last Saturday) just because I feel as though I couldn’t absorb it all in one day!

Congratulations, that is very impressive. You have a wonderful stallion, I am especially partial to TBs.

Congratulations!!! That is so exciting and I am so glad you got to see your baby show.

Good boy Fred-you are one fine stallion!

I saw him do all his rounds! He was so quiet and such a super star, you must be so proud.

I saw him yesterday. He was so good.

Congrats from snowy Alberta! Both you Freds must be very proud!

Fred - I think it is so, so wonderful that you were able to get there to see Quin go. How special!

Zafara - I think that picture is mislabeled. Rodeo Drive is a very pretty pinto (not the one in that picture set either.).

Thanks, SmallChange. Link removed. Apparently I’m living even more vicariously than Fred these days!

Congrats Fred…does the heart good to know they are safe and doing well in big places.

Thank you everyone for the kind comments!
It is really gratifying to see babies that you bred out there, doing well, in good homes.
