This popped up on my news feed… whaddya think?? https://phys.org/news/2022-01-smart-saddle-equestrians.html
I wear a posture reminder that buzzes if I am slouching in my office chair. Real time feedback on whether I am leaning forward while riding would be neat. I don’t think I’d buy a whole new saddle for this, it would have to be a seat cover or saddle pad.
If the sensors can be placed on my own saddle (with all my safety equipment) it would be great for me, if I can afford it that is.
With MS my balance and proprioceptive sense are both horrible. This sounds like it could help me ride better.
I like the idea. I know that I’m crooked, but it can be hard to identify where it originates, what’s compensating, etc. I’d love to try one of the horse simulators, but the closest one is several hours away.
@wsmoak do you happen to know the name/brand of the the posture buzzer that you have? I also tend to slouch when I’m sitting. I’ve seen ads for what you describe, but I’m always skeptical of the companies.
It is a Lumo Lift but I’ve had it for a while and I am not sure they are still around. It has to be worn right at your collarbone, so it works great on a sports bra with wide straps but not really anything else that I wear. I just use it alone, I never bothered with the app to collect and analyze data.
It was in my news feed as well.
I think it could be more helpful if they made it as an accessory that you can add to any saddle. I would hate to have to buy a specific saddle. But adding anything also brings up issues.
