Thin tall socks with good stretch for wide calves

Thanks!

If you’re looking for some super super thin socks, try Zocks (i forget who makes them) but they’re like super super thin and hold up pretty well. They’re also super cheap and you can get them from Dover!

These are the best I’ve found: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CIPGCQK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You might want to try Soxtrot knee highs. I bought a couple of pairs and liked them so much I bought almost 3 dozen more. They are thin, very stretchy, never slip down, have a thin seam at the toes and never pill, run or develop holes. Without exaggeration they have been indestructible. I haven’t even worn the bulk of the socks I originally purchased. They come in a vast array of solid colours and patterns. I bought them 3 or 4 years ago after I saw an advert for them featuring Pippa Funnell and Tim Stockdale wearing them and singing their praises as the best socks for use with riding boots. I wear them everyday, except in very hot weather.

Trouser socks! I’ve been wearing these under my boots for decades. For $10, you can get several pairs in a pack, and mine seem to surprisingly last for ages. You can even get them in patterns if you shop around.

I put them on over regular ankle socks. They don’t add any bulk, they actually seem to reduce the bulk.

Bumping this zombie thread because some of the recommendations are no longer available (peddies) and I’m curious if the OP ordered and liked the Sock it to Me socks. I have 7.5 size feet and “normal” knees, but 16.5 inch calves means most socks either fall down immediately because the knees get too stretched out and don’t stay up, or whatever pattern on the socks gets all distorted with white lines running through because they are too stretched. Or both.

Why knee highs at all? I wear crew length (just above the ankle) and the breech protects my calf.

I normally wear shortie socks normally but wanted tall socks for a long time.

Noble Outfitters Peddies. Nice padding around the foot and ankle area, and the thinest material over the calf. Love them!

Ehhh yeah if you read my post bumping  they are not longer available unless you have a better source? I Googled, they aren’t on the Noble Outfitters page nor are they on Amazon, which is the collection of all things hard to find.

I tried these compression socks because I’ve started having leg fatigue. These might do the trick for you! AmazonSmile : Copper Compression Socks Women & Men Circulation(6 pairs) - Best for Running, Nursing, Hiking, Recovery & Flight Socks : Clothing

Noble Outfitters is now Noble Equestrian (and also Noble Outfitters–but they do not do horse stuff). Noble Equestrian is exclusively sold at Dover and they do still make peddies. You can find the old Outfitters peddies here and there, but they are growing scarce. IMO, the older peddies are better than the new ones.

I love the older NE compression sock as well, but the new one is also not as good IMO. I find the newer versions of both are too short for my long shin.

BTW: if you find a pair of peddies with a grey horse wearing a Christmas wreath on them–that’s my horse. And, no, they did not pay me for using the photo until I got a lawyer involved. I don’t buy from them anymore–though I certainly understand why folks do.
