Thinking about going to the GCT Miami event in April but worried about cost?

The Longines Global Champions Tour just announced FREE ENTRY (!!!) for its event April 2-4 in Miami Beach. The event features the Gene Mische American Invitational on Friday April 3, and the $600,000 Longines Global Champions Tour of Miami Beach Grand Prix on Saturday 4/4.

It’s going to be an incredible event, right on the beach at 21st Ave by the Setai Hotel. Can’t wait!!!

Very excited to see the Global Champions Tour in Miami and going for free only makes it better!!!

If I lived closer (like a 2 or 3 hour drive), I’d be going. They always have great competitions and it’s one of my favorite series.

Yesss!!! I’d still have paid for a ticket, but this is awesome. What a great way to make it more accessible not only to SJ fans, but to people who haven’t a clue about the sport but may just be in the area that weekend.

Nothing is ever really free, they’ll ding you one way or the other. Like, Oh, you want a seat too? Or something.

But I don’t see too much of an issue here, I’d go if I was close. Haven’t been down to the beach side of Miami in years but parking used to be challenging. Flip side is lots of eateries and purveyors of adult beverages:cool:. And stunningly entertaining people watching.

No admission fee, first-come first-serve seating (I think they said there are 1400 seats?) and standing room at the perimeter. I plan to bring my beach chair and put my toes in the surf to watch. The only thing that’s not free is parking, but even on a regular day on a regular street in Miami beach, parking is never free.

GCT knows how to put on a show! I hope they add more stops in America over the years!

Did anyone see the venue plan for this event? Literally, right on the beach. Hopefully there isn’t a high tide!

Ok, 1) that’s just a rendering, not an actual depiction of how high the tide comes up, 2) I’m sure they’ve taken tide into account (and of course there will be high tide, it’s a three day competition and there is high tide twice a day) and 3) Miami Beach Polo is held in that exact same spot every year and its fine. And AMAZING.

The beach right behind the Setai is actually quite wide, even at high tide.

Thanks for posting details on the venue. I’ve been wondering about that part!
