Thinking about replacing my beloved Wintec 2000

It’s getting a bit old, it was one of the original CAIR models. I find it very comfortable, and I really like the grippiness of the fake suede. I use it for hacking and fox hunting, to save wear and tear on my expensive jump saddle. What I would like is 1)synthetic with the fake suede 2) replaceable gullet if possible 3) flocked instead of CAIR and 4) Maybe a jump saddle with a deeper seat instead of an AP, although I don’t have any trouble jumping ~2’6" in the 2000.

My horse is a light/medium built draft x with a fairly flat back. The Wintec fits him well. Suggestions? I’ve heard good things about the Tekna’s but it looks like the jump model is smooth instead of suede. I’m in no hurry, and plan on stalking ebay and other used saddle sites.

Thanks!

I had a thorowgood Griffin (which preceded the T4/T8 era) that I really liked. It was suede on the seat/knees. I liked its fit on the horse more than my Wintec. I have seen them for ~200 on eBay.

I thought the wintec’s were available in either flocked or Cair.

Why don’t you just get the CC version then? Have a student with one and it’s a great little saddle. It’s chocolate brown with the flock vs the CAIR.

We found one barely used for $300.

I do like the pro jump, Event_ryder, if I could find a used one that is flocked.
