Thinline half pad with saddle with CAIR panels?

Has anyone had good luck using a thinline under a dressage saddle with CAIR panels? The Wintec website says just to use a thin saddle pad underneath…but the thinline is not thick or bulky… this is an older horse who needs a little more support/protection over the withers and spine. The Isabell fits him the best of any saddle we tried on him. (Prominent withers and spine, dipped back)

I don’t have a CAIR saddle, but why wouldn’t you use it?
I find those CAIR panels very hard and unforgiving.
I use a Thinline Ultra under my Prestige.

I use a thinline under my custom and don’t see why it wouldn’t work under yours

Using a Thinline with the Isabell will be fine, but I’m surprised the Wintec fits. They’re built pretty flat and usually bridge on dipped backs. Make sure you check fit without any pad under the saddle, and reach up to feel the panel contact directly under the center of the seat. A small gap can be filled in (and the ThinLine Trifecta and Sheepskin pads will take a bridge shim), but a large gap is trouble.

Melissa.Van Doren, surprisingly the Isabel does fit. I’m thinking the CAIR panels form to his body and fill in gaps. Do you know anything about the tree on the Thorowgood dressage saddles? Are they built flat like the Wintecs?
