Bought a pair of trim-to-fit Thinline shims and cut along the perforated line to get the rear shims on their own. However, the edges aren’t tapered and now I’m concerned about potentially creating a pressure point under the panels where the edge of the shim is. It’s the 3/16" thickness so not huge, but I’m worried about negating the benefit. But it also seems that Thinline now only sells the trim-to-fit and I’m not sure how you could NOT have an edge one way or the other, regardless of which section you’re cutting out?
Can you just take a box knife and carefully bevel the edge a little? Maybe practice on a different piece to see what works best.
