Third hunting adventure at Red Rock Hounds
Actually, I can say that when hunting in Montana, we did reach a spot where Lynn got off and led her horse down. You might find that hard to believe, but yes, true.
I’ve been trying to picture this for several hours, and I have to admit, it’s pretty hard, but if anything, it conduces to confidence in Lynn’s good sense.

So, anyone else coming out to Montana for Red Rocks hunt?

Of course, Beverely, I’m counting on you to show up since you’ll have both horses in great shape by then (and the young’un hunt broke also!!)

What a great report! I really enjoy reading these reports. Our weather has been so crappy we haven’t been out for 6 weeks. Wah wah.

RRH - AWESOME

I grew up in Reno, and hunted with Lynn for 9 years. It is the BOMB. Nothing compares to the scenery, adventure, pace, wildness, imo. Several times we have gotten into spots where we have had to get off and either hold the horses tail going up or let him go and follow us down! Sometimes we’ve hunted where the sagebrush is sooo thick you have to jump it and it’s waaaaay bigger than the coops in the fence line.

Mountain lion sightings, wild mustangs, deer, eagle, rabbits, treed porcupine all in the same day do create wonderful memories!!!

I do miss it, and my riding has suffered a bit. Nothing like hunting to get you solid in the saddle. Go there when you get a chance.

Alas, no, won’t make it this year. What with the week in Reno and other planned trips to college reunion, WEG, Russia, Prague and back country camping over the summer, among other family travel commitments, the vacation time is pretty much all accounted for! And I do need to show up for work most of the time, pays for the horses and travel!

too true

the odds are solidly stacked in favor of your survival (and I think the single round contains rat shot at worst). Just fill your flask. You’ll have a ball (sans cap, one hopes)
lol! well put!
