Y’all I got this pad about 20 years ago. I love the thing! It’s wool sandwiched between cloth. Unfortunately I can’t remember where I got it and the tag is mostly worn off. Anyone recognize the symbol?
Don’t recognize the logo, but those are German flag colors so that may help narrow down the options.

Unfortunately wool sandwiched between cloth sounds to me like the kind of excellent long lasting old school kind of tack that might have been discontinued even by the original maker. So even if you find the manufacturer, they may be all memory foam now.

Are there any recognizable letters in the little scribble between the horse and flag in the horseshoe? I feel like I have seen this logo before, but can not place it.
Waldhausen is a German brand with a logo consisting of a W in a circle and a German flag-colored streamers below it: www.waldhausen.com
They are an old company, so I’m guessing their logo has probably been updated a few times over their history. Could be a possibility?
Is it loose wool/wool batting on the inside? Or wool felt? If wool felt, I wonder if it’s possible to commission a custom square pad from a manufacturer that does both english and western pads? Wool felt is a common material for western pads.

All good ideas! I will look at the link, for German makers of pads and check the western stuff! It’s felted and yeah if it lasts this long it’s probably now made of stuff that tears up easier lol. I can’t make out the little letters but I’ll take out my contacts and use a magnifying glass. Maybe that will help.
re making a new one-lots of folk in our hunt use a hunter orange pad during deer season-not a bad idea. And if the western folk could do one that’d be great!

PRI makes a felt pad; this Equu-Felt is cotton, not wool, but much heavier than a typical quilted pad.
I just went through my stack of saddle pads, and found one made by Sommer Sattel that has a felty underside. And, their logo includes a horseshoe. I bought it probably 10 years ago; it has held up well. It doesn’t look exactly like any of the pads on this link, but maybe this will get you headed in the right direction.

It seems to actually be features of a skyline - on the left possibly a church steeple, and the right maybe bridge towers? Now the top of the horseshoe looks to have lettering, but I can not at all make it out. Looks like 2 words, maybe starting with S and H? That’s the best I’ve got…
I have the same saddle pad, got it maybe 10 years ago but I don’t recall where. Mine says Fritz Thiedemann on the tag. I had hoped to find a new replacement one as well, but my googling as of a couple of years ago didn’t turn anything up.Good luck!
St-eb and Kieffer are still producing such pads.

Great detective work all you Nancy Drews!!! I am really happy to know, but sorry that they are discontinued. However, I did find this cool quote: Fritz Thiedemann said it takes three human lifespans to learn how to ride properly. And I think that’s about right.
I found one used pad on eBay-at an absurd price, and not exactly like the pad I wanted either.
I love the quote. There are also a bunch of photos of Fritz on eBay-really interesting.
