This Trakehner's pedigree for sport??

I have an eventer friend who is looking at a nice gelding by this stallion:

The dam is also a Trak, don’t have access to her pedigree…The young gelding looks like a really nice type, though he paddles a bit (and goes a little wide behind), but he seems to be very sensible, is a lovely, balanced mover, and jumps around small courses nicely; there seems to be a good basic brain in there! He is short-coupled and has kind of a shortish neck, and is leggy.

Thoughts??

TIA!

The most famous name is Abiza, who is the dam of Abdullah. Interestingly, Abdullah was sired by Donauwind and you have the full sister to Donauwind, Donaufahrt, at the bottom of this pedigree. Aida herself was the full sister of the stallion Amiego who competed at the Pan Am Games in eventing.

Carajan, who appears twice, “was the Trakehner breed’s most successful and dominant jumper producer in the 70s” —

I’d say if you like the horse, there is no reason to think he can’t be competitive in sport based on his pedigree!

Thanks, Schiffon! It sounds like he is bred to jump

http://galtenfarms.tripod.com/deen.htm. More info and photo of the pedigree. Would be interesting to know what the dam line is though.
