"This webpage is using large amounts of memory"?

My computer is warning me:

“This web site is using large amounts of memory that is slowing down the performance of my computer”.

Why would COTH be doing that to a Mackbookpro laptop?

Wondering what new wrinkle that is?

Have not seen that one before.

I have not gotten any warnings but I can say that COTH forum has been moving much more slowly than it has in the past.

Maybe same issue my laptop warned me about?

I thought that may give those working on the new glitches some ideas to try, if they have some program gone wild?

I see that sometimes on my iMac.

It isn’t the BB as much as some plug in is misbehaving (IMO).

If you run the Activity Monitor (in Applications, Utilities IIRC) you can sort by CPU and Quit the process that’s being a CPU hog.

Doesn’t happen often. Also try a page re-load, that sometimes helps.

Thanks for that explanation.

I have never seen that before, first time this morning, twice, on COTH, while we are having some glitches.
I reported it in case it was part of the glitches, which it may not be after all.

It may be related or not. I did have one page (but IIRC it was really Google Maps) that Safari wanted to reload the page

I have the Activity Monitor in my Dock and discovered that if you ‘right click’ the Activity Monitor icon once you have it in your Dock, select Dock Icon > and Show CPU History you can see a short CPU history graph in the Monitor Icon on the Dock (I thought pretty cool when I stumbled over this  ).
