This weekend only: Handing out good karma. Doggles not included- Conclussion -Pg 3

Mazel Tov!

EqTrainer, what a mensch you are! Such a mitzvah you’ve done! I am verklempt:sadsmile:. (I’m channeling my inner Yiddisha bubbie;)-not Jewish, but I just feel it sometimes:cool:). Whitney is a special girl, to have surrounded herself with such love.

FatPalo, kudos to you for your bravery in facing such troubles (we pseudoJews know a bit about this:winkgrin:) and for reaching out for help. You deserve all the good karma you can handle.

FatPalo, I’ve one question for you…where will you be practicing?
Cause I want YOU as my vet… Mmmm, I may have to move!

Just found this thread and now you’ve made me cry! Way to go EqT - you are racking up the karma points.

FP - safe travels. Hope you recharge and relax.

EQ T…Thanks for opening your home to this little dog. What a lucky pup!!!

Great story.

Sending good thoughts, prayers and great Karma your way! Eq T you rock for welcoming that sweet pup into your home!!!

EqT you are wonderful. Happy dog, happy owner, happy foster. The best of all worlds.

Update On the Little Lady

Seriously… You guys are making me blush. This dog is so sweet and pleasant to have around, I feel like FP is doing me a favor!

Today it is warmer and Whitney hung out with me in the barn. But until today, she has camped out on the down cushioned couch in front of the wood stove just about 24/7. She cuddles, she sleeps, she wags her tail, she eats dog bones. Its all good.

I told FP to assume no news is good news, so I will update this thread ocassionally so she can check it when she has time. I was telling one of my friends, who is a seamstress, about her dislike of the cold and she is whipping her up a fleecie so I will get pics of that for sure

I am going to take her with me this afternoon while I am teaching, to share the love

EqT is the best. Walking into her lovely home, you just can’t help but feel kindness, warmth, and acceptance. Whitney gladly stayed behind, which made me feel so glad that my little old dog could have a break, too.

I drove out to Lexington, KY first, and stayed Saturday night with someone who started as a complete stranger but ended as a very good friend. I met up with an amazing women I met once, a year ago, while walking my dog on a beach in school. She showed me her home (complete with a Palomino gelding and huge guest house) and asked (then nearly begged) me to come and stay. I reunited and reminisced with an old friend and her amazing family, who introduced me to some of the top TB horses in the country, and we even saw a just-born foal.

I got glimpses of a life I want. I submersing myself with people that are so positive and balanced that it’s highly contagious. We cooked and sat down for a great dinner (it’s been years since that happened). I relaxed on a Sunday morning and read a book, while sitting next to an author, all while being surrounded by natural beauty.

When I leave school at the end of the day, I’ve just been feeling lost (caveat: I adore school and I tell everyone that my clinical year has been one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Often, I stop back or don’t want to leave the hospital on nights and weekends). It’s not the things that matter much (although, castles and foals are amazing!), but the feeling of acceptance and tranquility that I stumbled upon this weekend that I had lost, and missed so much.

Walking through the barn, I couldn’t help but take a photo of this sign that was applicable:

For those of you who haven’t been in Lexington before, I literally turned right at a castle to get to the farm:

The “awwww” photo, just born foal:

I would only leave Lexington after promising myself I’d come back through on my way back east. (Yes, I will be back there about 1.5 weeks… anyone up for coffee, or letting me exercise their racehorse in the morning??? Hehe ) Where will I go when I’m finished school is anyone’s guess right now. I don’t have a home to go back to, which just means, I can go almost anywhere. I’m getting ahead of myself- I need to finish school and pass boards, first.

I’m extremely humbled by everyone’s posts. Thank you. A huge thank you, again, to EqT and LMEqT, for loving my little old dog.

Awww FP, awesome pics! You have an eye. Glad you are getting what you need.

I have a friend who just started making custom dog clothes and she whipped this up for Whitney, who thinks it is darn cold in the mornings LOL mostly of course I have never had a little dog to dress so with no further ado…

Here she is, pretty in pink.

She is an awesome doggie model and tolerated our shenanigans with good humor.

She looks gorgeous! What a sweet little dog. This thread makes me smile. And I needed that today.

I keep forgetting to mention…

When FP dropped her off, she brought enough dog food and biscuits to feed an army of dogs, her bed, her meds and extra flea protection. What a good mom!

Bet she’s enjoying being fussed over.

Do I see a hood folded down? good for rainy mornings?

EqT, please send you friend thank you’s by the bucket load for me. The panda (just the same color as Whit) on the side is hilarious. Everyone (and everything) deserves to be spoiled sometimes. I’m super excited Whitney has gotten the chance.

The real question may be, is LMEqT going to paint the dog’s nails pink, too?
