Thornhill Danube Dressage Saddle

Reviews and opinions regarding this saddle?

I have had mine now for a year and love it. Excellent quality and affordable price. I have short-backed horses and saw an improvement with them within days. Started to engage their backs without and coercion from me. Have made excellent progress since using the new saddle.

Thanks, AmberRidge. Does the seat size run true? Im deciding between a 17 or a 17.5. Also I know it has a more forward flap …is it still easy to keep your leg down underneath you?

I’ve had a couple, the seat runs pretty true to size, a 17” is good for me, whereas some of my other saddles with a deeper seat I need to go to a 17.5”. I fund it allows me to ride with a nice straight leg, and in many saddles that’s not the case for me, as I have a longish femur. I find them very comfy and balanced. It’s too bad they aren’t made anymore, they are getting harder and harder to find. I use mine on a saddlebred with wide tall withers and a slightly curvy back.

This. I had a tank of an Arabian that had the same build, and it fit us great. The 17.5 was what we had. Today, I ride 17" and 16.5" other brand saddles comfortably. My femur is very long.
