Thoroughbred Alliance Show Series 2013 Premieres in Mid-Atlantic!
As a result of the overwhelming success of 2012’s Mid-Atlantic Horse Rescue Thoroughbred Show, The Totally Thoroughbred Show at Pimlico Race Course, and the Fair Hill Furlongs to Fences TB Show, organizers are pleased to announce the formation of the Thoroughbred Alliance Show Series (T.A.S.S.).
The 2013 show series consists of several Thoroughbred Only horse shows in the Mid-Atlantic region including a year end awards banquet to be held at Laurel Park. Awards will be given to horses and riders that have accumulated the most points throughout the season. Registration for year end awards is free.
Georganne Hale, MD Jockey Club Racing Secretary and one of the committee members of TASS said, “We, at the Maryland Jockey Club, are very excited to be part of the first ever all thoroughbred horse show series! We hope this will bring more awareness that a thoroughbred’s career does not end at the racetracks”.
The 2013 TB Alliance Show Series consists of the following Thoroughbred Only Shows:
- March 13-15 ~ TB Celebration Show, Virginia Horse Center, Lexington, VA
- April 6 ~ Thoroughbred Festival at Winterplace Park, Salisbury, MD
- June 1 ~ MidAtlantic (MAHR) TB Show, Heavenly Waters Equestrian Center, Bel Air, MD
- June 7-9 ~ TB Celebration Show, Virginia Horse Center, Lexington, VA
- July 13 ~ Totally Thoroughbred Show - Pimlico Racetrack, Baltimore, MD
- August 10-11 ~ Loch Moy TB Hunter Jumper Show, Loch Moy Farm, Adamstown, MD
- September 7-8 ~ Fair Hill Furlongs to Fences, Fair Hill, MD
- September 11-15 ~ The Maryland Horse and Pony Show, Prince Georges Equestrian Center, Upper Marlboro, MD
- October 25-27 ~ TB Celebration Show, Virginia Horse Center, Lexington, VA
The Thoroughbred Alliance Show Series Committee includes Fran Burns as Alliance Coordinator, Georganne Hale of MD Jockey Club, Bev Strauss of MidAtlantic Horse Rescue, Sue Smith of Canter PA, Becky Foster of The Maryland Horse and Pony Show, and Krista Penny Hodgkin of TB Celebration Shows.
