I am currently writing my dissertation on the purchase behaviours of buyers at the sales of yearlings. I am after willing people to participate in my four minute survey. If anyone would like to participate in my survey I would be really appreciative.

Hi, I tried to take your survey but got stuck on the 2nd and 3rd questions, which asked which sales days I would attend and attempt to purchase. I would have checked nearly all the books/days but only one was allowed to be chosen, which would have skewed the rest of my answers.
(Fwiw, at a sale like KeeSep–which you cited–the vast majority of buyers do not limit their shopping to a single book.)
Seems like someone so interested that they would make it the subject of their dissertation would know at least that much… Pay no mind, I’m always suspicious of people using polling online, for dissertations, but that’s just me.

I’m old and jaded too, but perhaps more naïve. What would OP have to gain by getting people to take that survey if it’s not for its stated purpose?
I don’t know why people do weird things online, but they do. Perhaps nosey, perhaps trying to learn about what people do at sales so they can sound educated about buying yearlings, who knows?
I would think that anyone writing a dissertation would attend the sales and learn first hand, not use online polls, but again, perhaps I’m just old and that is what people do nowadays.
