Thorowgood GP High Wither Saddle - T4 or T8

Hi everyone,

I’ve settled on the Thorowgood GP High Wither saddle and am just debating whether the T8 is worth the extra $200. Anyone have experience with both and have a preference?

I have the hi-wither T4; it fits my shark-finned OTTB very well. (And I was able to have it fitted and reflocked by a saddle fitter, which really helped.) I guess it just boils down to whether or not you want the appearance of all-over leather, or what. Personally, I do a lot of trail riding and appreciate the sueded seat and knee rolls for grip.

Thanks for the reply! I actually bit the bullet and went with the T8. It was a tough decision as I really did like the idea of a grippy seat, but decided on the other. It arrived a few days ago and I LOVE it. First saddle to really fit my very hard to fit horse.

I have both the T4 & T8. Don’t worry, the T8 is just as grippy and looks better to boot. Enjoy your new saddle.
