Thorowgood Low Wither T8 GP?

Just looking to see if anyone else has one of these. I have it on trial right now and so far I like it! I have no plans to jump anything big for a few years (young horse and I’m out of shape) and this fits my horse now, and if in a few years I want to upgrade, I haven’t broken the bank. I also like the security of the deeper seat for the youngin.

The difference between this and the K&M is just the leather, but the Thorowgood has leather seat and knee, and I felt it was just as grippy.

I guess I’m just looking to see if anyone has one, if they like it, etc!

I had a T8 Compact as a standin while my regular saddle was getting assessed/tree replaced (a very long process). It’s a reasonably comfortable saddle, my horse seemed fine in it, but I am short, and my knee was right at the edge with jumping-length stirrups, and someone who tried it had their knee sticking way past the roll. So, unless you’re really short/have a very short thigh, I found it to be a real challenge to fit into with shorter stirrups.

Thanks! I notice that as well. Luckily, I prefer a slightly longer stirrup length (both from years of dressage length and also I like the security) which is why I don’t think it will be a permanent solution for me, if I decide to jump down the line. The horse is 3, so I have no plans to do much with him for the next year at least. I figured for under a grand, if I get half of that back if I sell it, yay, or it can be the spare saddle at the barn.

I have this version and the K&M high wither version, for two different horses. I really like both saddles but you can probably find the K&M used for about the same price as the new saddle.

It’s fine for jumping, I haven’t had issues but I do baby stuff. My trainer liked it when she rode in it. Plus my horse likes it, with the gullet options and a good sheepskin pad with shims it was fabulous while he was growing.
