Does anyone have this saddle? Does the seat size run small? I presently have a 17" inch and I’m wondering if I should’ve gotten the 17.5". I measured my femur like they say on their website…it measured 21", which they recommended a 17" saddle for. I am 5’3" and 128 pounds. It does come with large removable thigh blocks…does anyone remove those and does that help as far as giving you a little more room? I don’t like to be sliding around at all…I like having support in a saddle…just wondering if the next size up would actually be too large.
If you got the one with the deeper seat I think they run a little larger. i typically ride in a 17.5-18" and the 17.5" is plenty big. I too dont like a lot of wiggle room. I’ve angled the blocks to give my leg more room but never taken them off completely - but you totally could do that. Good luck!
I have the Standard version of the T8 thorowgood dressage saddle. Not the High wither or the Broad back.
I think you should be fine with the 17"
I have the regular T8, not high wither or broad back. I think the seat runs true to size. I am in the 17.5 in both my T8 and my BC jumping saddle. It’s a rather deep seat, so you might want the extra 1/2" regardless.

I’m 5’6", weigh about 140, and my upper leg is about 19"
In my experience the seats do run small. I am typically an 18, but the 18 Thorowgood that I had was way too small for me.
I also feel that most of the seats run slightly smaller.
Jaybird…are you a saddlefitter? I know it’s individual preference…but given the information in my original post…which seat size do you feel would be best? I seem to fall right in the middle between a 17 and 17.5 inch seat.
I have the high wither T8 and in 17.5 my normal size and it seems to work for me. I removed the thigh blocks.
