thoughts on Jeremy Beale clinics?

He will be in my area wondering who has ridden with him?

Best thing I ever did. Hands down. He’s an amazing and kind teacher. Go. Enjoy. I’m jealous.

OMG! I am jealous too! I rode with Maj.Beale for years, even shipped my horse to Pen-y-Bryn and spent the summer riding with him.

He used to come do clinics in Texas but as far as I know, no longer comes down this way. I would LOVE to ride with Maj. Beale again!

He is hands down the best instructor I have ever had! I really miss working with him.

I hope you go and have fun.

Absolutely a must do, I have a standing spot in that clinic. He comes there monthly.

Wonderful teacher, he has seen it all. You learn so much. Watch as much as you can! Enjoy!

WOW - this is such glowing feedback - I may have to go!!!

Thanks everyone!

Very good - and I’m an uncoordinated dweeb!

Got more out of a couple clinics than a couple months of lessons, usually.

I come from more of an eventing perspective and I am a very uncoordinated dweeb as well - with the best of’em! - but I see his background is eventing so I thought it might be appropriate for me? I just hate being overfaced and intimidated!

Great instructor; be prepared to work hard!

He is great for all types, I’ve ridden 5 different type horses under him.
An Advanced level eventer - 4th level Dressage horse - Young Lipizzan Training level - TB long format Eventer - Holsteiner retired Jumper.

He teaches each individual pair, I’ve never had him give the same lesson twice. No generic one movement fits all.
If you’ve ever ridden w/ any of the old school instructors he’s one of the true horseman.

Even if you don’t ride you can gain/see alot of change just by auditing. And will most likely kick yourself for not riding.

So did you decide to go? I hope so. I want to live vicariously!

Do you think I can get Major Beale to clinic in Northern Virginia?

I’ve got a fabulous place and have always wanted to host a clinic He is by far the best clinician I ever rode with. I would love to share him in Pucellville VA

Time is flying by …

I’ve ridden with him many times in So. Cal. Really enjoyed it each time.

Oi! I didn’t see how old the original post was.

Yup. I found an old thread and brought it back to life!

Can you please post the time and place for the clinic? I would be interested in auditing if I can make it. Thanks!

You’ll never know unless you ask, right?

I rode with him years ago in the Texas clinics as well. I’d KILL To ride with him again; i feel like he was one of the best (probably THE best) instructors I have ever ridden with. Very classical, very kind, no yelling, no belittling, just good solid instruction and he really cares about the student and the horse. I wish he would come back to Texas!

Cant vouch for the clinic skills, but based on above, doesn’t matter.
I will say that I was stabled next to him and his group at a show last spring. It was his 80th birthday, banner up, champagne toast, seriously nice bunch of people. He rode a test, won his class, and uses the bed of the pickup as a mounting block.
He was warm and friendly - I think I’d sign up for him in a heartbeat.

A year late- but…
Anybody interested.
