Thoughts on "The Traveling Horse Witch?"

I keep mum on facebook and other social media. People have a tendency to go that extra BSC mile.

@K_VanOlst That’s the “negative” post I saw and agreed with even though I didn’t give it a ‘like’. The reply from the witch sounds vaguely Kanarak-y if you get my drift.

But she took that off her website so now she doesn’t want it to exist :rofl:

I’m not interested in having the flying monkeys after me, so I just read (and screenshot and chuckle to myself about anyone believing google will be… Removing the CoTH forums because a “traveling horse witch” contacted them ). Really if she’s interested in setting the record straight, she’s welcome to make an account (or use one of her houseguests) to share her legit credentials. You know. If she had any :woman_shrugging: which I’m still not convinced of.

Even better. It’s “Google themselves.” (Not to be confused with a Google subsidiary).

Best bit of that ridiculosity besides Google removing COTH

Stop bullying me. It was given to me by a dead person!!! <- I think I got that translation correct?

Yeah, that was a nice touch.

We really need to introduce her to Nicky.

Does this mean she has stopped using the Traveling Horse Witch as her business name and is now Celeste Leilani or whatever? Because the thread on COTH is tagged THW but it’s now an insult to use the business name from 3 months ago?

Perhaps someone needs to tag this thread with Celeste Leilani Lazaris.

Does she actually believe the lies as she writes them?

First, Google doesn’t care, they have way bigger concerns to deal with daily. That statement is ridiculous in itself.

Second, Libel lawsuits require that the person spreading harmful rumors about you actually be lying in what they say. Sharing bad things someone actually did is not libel.

It’s in society’s interest for people to be able to warn others about someone’s actual bad behavior. So there is no law against that. The hard to swallow pill is that it wasn’t the screenshots and repostings that harmed her. It was her own bad actions that are harming her. Crying bully does not change the facts.

She keeps changing the business name. In the last year she was Traveling Horse Witch, Celeste Leilani-Lazaris, Equine Performance Development Training, Balance Through Movement Method, and I am sure there have been others, just can’t recall them all at the moment.

Usually frauds will make their business name elusive. Makes it harder to warn others of bad business when the business name keeps changing.

have to wonder why the person who asked on her FB page last week for her to share her credentials had their comment deleted and not answered. also, slander is spoken word, libel is in print. and for the record, some states are pretty stringent laws about who can and cannot do equine massage and bodywork, and what the requirements are for being certified. I wonder if someone doing an online course across state lines would run afoul of those laws. I would think they would. https://iaamb.org/resources/laws-by-state/ Check out Iowa, Tennessee and Texas, for example. Some states are a free for all, but many are clearly not.

Ah yes! Google will be expunging the Chronicle of the Horse from the interwebz because a handful of their forum members dared to question the credentials and methods of a traveling horse witch.

Does she have the slightest clue how ridiculous that sounds?

Maybe she actually means she’s working on some SEO so this thread isn’t one of the top hits when you search her business name.

I didn’t know exposing someone for what they are = hate culture

Sad to see Warwick S actively engaging in her bs. I thought better of him.

I didn’t, after seeing him post a “working student” position that was essentially indentured servitude. pay  your  help

I’ve noticed that when drama is afoot, WS soon appears, kinda weird.

And yeah, the indentured servitude bit, especially in California, is outdated and unrealistic.

Has this been shared from her website yet? Just read it, I’ll copy and paste:

*A Letter From The Creator

I would like to begin our work together with a very honest note to you, reader.

I have never taken a course on equine rehabilitation.

I have not studied from the masters of classical dressage or biomechanics.

I am not well-read on classical literature.

I do not own a single book on equine exercises.

I cannot tell you how my work differs from ____________________. Everything I know to be true is because I am a forever student of the horse, and the horse alone. Everything that you will learn from this methodology is simply and purely my personal beliefs and what I currently have found to be true from countless hours of self-study along with trials and so many errors.

I do not come from an educated background within dressage or biomechanics - I simply found myself chasing the sole thread of supporting nerve function rather than following a set school of thought. Because of this, I am able to peer through my own unique lens for how to develop and support the whole horse while noticing and being able to discern between any differences between my methodology and those who specialize in the dressage arena.*

So… she is a trainer and competitor according to her website, but has no formal training or education in dressage… and is an “expert” in equine bodywork, but has never cracked a book or taken a course in equine education…

This is feeling very Nick Peronace-y to me.

I don’t have my personal dentist come work on my horse’s teeth. I also don’t call my personal doctor when I need a vet. She may have taken coursework in structural integration massage for people, but that does not translate to being certified with not an expert.

I hope she is lying when she says she trains veterinarians.

So when a body of work and research exists why is it a good thing to just invent stuff yourself? Why does ignorance equal inspiration?

WS has ventured off to the realm of borderline-woo with some of his ideas, but I still didn’t expect him to engage in FB “bitching”. It didn’t mesh with his supposed philosophies.
