ive had him for a few months. He’s 15HH. I’d be glad to post photos if someone wants to see him. I know big names in the quarter horse lines, but I don’t know much other than names. Would love to hear some thoughts.
damned near his own grandpa…inbred as hell…the Two Eyed Jacks were wildly popular in the 70s and anything with balls was kept as a sire so tons of them were kicking around. Did notice some old stock horse breeding in there…horses going back to Wimpey, King, Poco Bueno…and a bit of running blood in there.
It is “line breeding” when it goes right. “Inbreeding” if it goes wrong.

Lady Hancock/Joe Hancock/Peter McCue caught my eye. I had an APHA gelding that traced to this line plus Three Bars. Wonderful hunter. More blood than I expected for a paint. He had been bred for working cow. I turned him into a hunter! He was a pleasure champ but could also hold his own if the over fence divisions and hunters under saddle against some nice warmbloods.

Picture please. While it’s true it seems all branches on the family tree go to the same horse, which is pretty unusual in a big breed with lots of horses like AQHA, there is some other stuff in the mix and relatives more then 3 gens back tend to have little influence on an individual. And you aren’t going to breed him so he might be fine from a using standpoint. You can’t ride the papers, fortunately in this case.
Two Eyed Jack was a pretty good looking horse IIRC and was heavily promoted but it looks like some here on both sides were probably owned by the same outfit. People usually don’t go outside their own herd to look for this much concentration.
