I am so sorry about your loss of Tigger. I hope you can find a measure of peace in the coming days.
So sorry for your lost. We lost my daughter’s junior hunter the same way. It is hard to accept that there was nothing you could do.
Thank you everyone for the kind words. I hope to be able to get out again soon, and have received the most generous offer to hunt friend’s horses.
I do still have Timely, another wonderful OTTB, and plan on getting on him soon and remembering what he was all about. He’s been laid up for 6 months due to foot issues, but has been cleared to go back to work.
I learned a lot about horse ownership this week, unfortunately, none of it was good.
Hug your ponies for me, and cherish them and love them, because as I found out, you just never know.
So sorry about Tigger - so young and such a lousy thing to happen. Seem to have been a lot of colic deaths in the last month or so (several on the Florida Horse BB that I am on as well). You did your absolute best, and condolences on your loss. They sure do leave a huge hole in our hearts…
So very sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry.
My deepest sympathies on your loss. You did learn one of the toughest horsemanship lessons, learning when to let them go. I hope time and happier memories can help to ease your pain.

I had to put down Tigger, my lovely 4 yo chestnut OTTB, yesterday due to complications from colic. He had a tear in his omentum, and a section of small intestine became entrapped and strangulated. Medically, surgery was not an option.
I am absolutely devastated by his loss.[/QUOTE]
So sorry for your loss. Hope he’s up there with my Gambler, Valentine, Shooter, Angel and Snowflake.
They all make it to the Rainbow Bridge to hunt happily ever after, grazing endless fields of alfalfa and Timothy.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Godspeed Tigger.and {hugs} for you.
I’m so sorry.
