Time for a Doggie Vacation!

Anyone have any ideas for a doggie vacation in the North East? Last year we took the pooch to Cape May, NJ, which was extremely dog friendly. This year we just came back from Gettysburg, PA, which was also a lot of fun for both humans and dog. We’re looking for ideas for either the fall or any time next year. We don’t want a vacation where we just go on hikes - we can do that from our home base.

A friend of mine stayed here:

Inn By The Sea - near Portland, Maine

Bethany Beach has a dog beach and Dewey Beach is dog friendly after 5pm and before 9am. We recently took the dogs to the Natural Bridge - did go hiking…but there were several dog friendly breweries in the area. i’ve been primarily going south with my dogs but going north is on the agenda so looking forward to following this post. If you do decide to go south, Charleston SC and Mt Pleasant were wonderful dog friendly places to go.

Nantucket can be fun and is pretty dog-friendly
