Time for Jockey's to put their foot down!

I think Md only has EMTs but they have an MD at the track during the races. God help you if you get hurt in the morning though. That said it would have taken Jesus to save Jose.

Seems like common sense to have qualified medical help on hand for both humans and horses, morning and racing hours. How hard is it to do the right thing?

adding to the fire I think many jockeys need to tighten up their chin straps. So many of them have the chin strap beyond excessively lose and that means their helmets are not properly secured to their heads; offering little protection in the event of a fall. Blood horse had a photo of Jose with his chin strap hanging lose enough that the helmet could easily come off his head. Not saying this cause his death but Jockeys also need to do their due diligence and ensure their helmets are properly fastened

I agree on having medical staff on hand at least during racing hours, would be beneficial. But having medical staff on hand for prolonged periods of time can get extremely expensive, extremely fast so that is certainly something worth thinking about

It would be progress to have Paramedics rather than EMTs and I think Jockeys should have that level of expertise available. I agree with you, that even a surgeon on site could not have saved Mr. Flores.

I’m sorry Laurierace. You’ve said he was a good person, Jock, and friend to you for many years. It must have been a terrible shock.
