Yes there is. It’s a starting point, and it’s a starting point that concerns and affects the eventing community. That’s why I started this thread here, on the eventing board, and not on Off Course to speak about helmets in general. That’s why the thread is titled ‘time to put an end to top hats in dressage’. It’s about top hats, not cowboy hats or no hat or saddleseat whatever-they-wears.

Think of top hats as a Saskatchewan. :slight_smile: Or, if equal marriage rights are closer to your heart than single-payer health care, think of top hats as Massachusetts. Or if you like legalized marijuana, as Colorado. A domino that falls and that will, over time, cause other dominoes to fall in the direction of safety and greater welfare. The jumping rules started the domino chain, banning toppers would represent further progress.

We can take care of our own first rather than get overwhelmed by the larger group.
