Husband and I biked the Legacy Trail to WEG today. We got on the trail at the YMCA on Loudon (near the intersection of Newtown Pike, outskirts of Lexmark). From there, it took us about 40 minutes at an easy pace. The trail is all paved, brand new, and beautiful. Had we been more familiar with it, we could have saved a few miles each way by parking along the trail in Coldstream Research Campus. As it was, it was about eight miles each way, ending with the bike corral at KHP.
We were there for all of XC and milled around the trade show for a bit before splitting for home as the storm clouds rolled in. We avoide the rain, and I feel fully justified in eating that salted pretzel earlier. Legacy Trail and WEG by bike? Highly recommended!
