Currently using 5 gallon [plastic] gas cans to haul water, but sometimes our stinky well water can leave a residue. (Yes, I’m working on it… don’t own the property and the owner is adamant there’s nothing to fix. :sigh:) What do you guys use to clean out a container that you can’t stick a brush into? Vinegar? Bleach? Thanks!
Baking soda for odors
White vinegar and water 1/1; allow it to sit for awhile, then shake vigorously and drain & rinse.
Bleach, fairly diluted. Oddly, my pony prefers a very faint after-flavor of bleach in his water…horses.
Thanks all!

I also use bleach. A few glugs of bleach (that’s the official measurement amount… ) add water, swish around, dump, rinse clean.
It does depend a bit on how hard your water is. Vinegar is great for hard water deposits. Bleach is probably better for algae or the like.
Having recently moved to a very hard-water mineral deposit water supply area (south Texas), I have been amazed at the powers of white vinegar.
