Tips for managing dog on Lasix?

We recently began fostering a 7 yr old chihuahua with a grade 4 heart murmur. Vet put her on Enalapril and Lasix, with the obvious side effects of increased thirst/increased urination. Since starting the Lasix she is peeing about every two hours, maybe less if she’s sleeping. We are letting her out as much as possible when we’re home, I am taking her to work when I can, etc. For the times when she has to be by herself for longer than 2 hours, what’s the best method to handle this? Pee pads? Diaper? She is perfectly house/crate trained outside of the medication side effects so don’t want to confuse her, but also want her to be comfortable and happy.

Thanks!

For a dog that age I would probably try the pee pads first. Small dogs often adapt to them quickly. If she can reliably use these then you won’t really have to worry about accidents of leaking diapers.
If she can’t seen to figure it out then the only other option may be diapers. In that case she’ll likely hold it until she physically can’t anymore. She probably won’t actually want too, and she probably won’t like the feeling of them. That’s assuming they actually stay on.
