So, I rode in a small, local schooling show today. First time showing in over a year and only the fourth time ever with this horse. The last 14 months or so held a lot of changes and challenges for me and my riding. My long-time trainer (and dear friend) became ill last year in late summer and passed and passed way almost a year ago. I had been in full training with her since I got this horse and was riding 3rd pretty consistently and beginning to school 4th. After she passed, I had to bring him home and start riding by myself, consequently I regressed a little bit. I started doing clinics with a couple of trainers, one from Albuquerque and one from Arizona. I also rode a series of clinics over the year one who comes in from South Carolina (I am in far southern New Mexico, right over the Texas state line). We’ve been getting back up to speed and schooling well at third level. Today, I scored a 67.8 at third 1 and a 66.2 at third 3. I am beyond pleased with how well we did! He is such a good boy.
Congratulations! Venturing out to any show is a big deal and especially without the support of a dear friend and long-time trainer who saw you through the development of your horse. I hope the experience was affirming that you are on the right track and doing great work.
Well done! It sounds like you have been through a lot so your results must feel extra special. Your friend and trainer is looking down and feeling proud of you.
Congrats!!
That’s awesome, congratulations!
Congratulations, not only for your great scores, but for your perseverance and dedication to your horse. Well done all around!
Well done, you have worked hard and it shows!
Congratulations!! That must feel so good.
Congrats!!
This is a difficult thing, but you did it.
I’m so glad that so much efforts brought you to the show. Keep going!
Congratulations! That’s really great!
Going to need pics… Especially if you have a PRE
My horse is a PRE, I don’t have any pictures from the show. I will try to get something posted later in the week. Right now I’m in Cozumel…
